House of Representatives Washington, DC 20515 Dear Representative: On behalf of Family Research Council (FRC) and the thousands of families we represent, I urge you to ‘oppose the House Amendment to the Senate Amendment to H.R. 2471, the vehicle for the omnibus spending package. Providing funds to Ukraine is asensible and laudable goal, and we understand that our government also needs to be funded. However, doing all this on the condition of promoting a radical gender ideology at home and abroad turns the bipartisan appropriations process into a partisan wish list. We will score against H.R. 2471 or any legislative vehicle containing the following concerning provisions. ‘The omnibus bill contains a problematic reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) that undermines the bills very purpose and harms the battered women that VAWA is intended to help, It also turns a program designed to help women succeed financially around the globe into a“Gender Equity and Equality Action Fund.” This new program, backed by previous commitments by the Biden administration to promote gender ideology around the world, will open the door wide for this administration to push a harmful ideology in places like Eastern Europe at a time when safety and security should be the primary goal. This program will also pave the way for the international abortion industry to continue erroneously promoting abortion as necessary for women's economic empowerment. Family Research Council 801 G.
