As a student taking BS-Tourism Management, I obliged myself to have a

serious study in Legal Aspects in Tourism and Hospitality Industry in view

of the fact that this will be my guide on my succeeding career.

Preparatory to learning the law related to the industry I should need to

review the subject matter. To have a better apprehension, I must be

unbiased on the text I am reading, especially in general factual

information. As a citizen of the Philippines, I know that it is necessary to

be aware of the rules and regulations that have been implemented for the

country and its people. In the course of my academic required subjects, I

pay attention to every presentation so that I will know more about the

laws in the tourism sector.

The first group presenter discussed the overview on the Review of

Philippine Constitutions and Business Law that specifically cited the

relevance in the Tourism and Hospitality sector. They should consider the

history of the constitutions so that other students will be aware of when

was the Philippine Constitution started and the reason behind the

implementation. They tackled first the kinds of law, Subjective law is

consists of written statutory rules, while the adjective law is also known

as procedural law is the aggregate of rules of procedure, the public law

that has a principle that must act lawfully, rationally, fairly, and
compatible with human rights. I understand that tourism law has to be

taken seriously because this will provide proper management of tourism

activities. I believe that The Bill Of Rights applies to all sectors because it

is for the protection of human rights, it is also established a relationship of

the individual to the state and limits the powers of the state.

To be honest, I just heard about National Economy and Patrimony, this is

about sustaining the increase in the number of goods and services

produced by the Nation for the benefit of the people. I learned that the

classification of contracts is classified based on their validity and

performance. The mode of extinguishing obligations cover the payment,

loss of the thing due, remission of the debt, the right of the creditor and

debtors, compensations, and novation.

Overall, it’s was clearly explained that we need to understand first general

laws before studying a subject. They say that the law should be unbiased,

everyone should be treated equally. In my judgment, I don't think that

everyone is protected by the law. As far as I am concerned, people who

can’t afford to hire a private lawyer got a high chance to lose in court,

which means rich people can buy the win. Relying on public attorneys is
just putting luck on a lottery ticket that there is only a small chance to

win. In conclusion, the knowledge about the general law will give me the

right path as a citizen. Law was implemented to have proper guidance. I

hope that one day, the law will treat the country equally.
