1. Determine the energy of the discrete-time sequence x[n] shown in Figure 1. Also compute

6. Two systems are connected in cascade as shown in Figure 2. The two systems are first
order IIR filters. The difference equations connecting the input and output are given as

7. Obtain the parallel form of realization of the discrete time system whose transfer function

frequencies greater than 8kHz. Assume the sampling frequency to be 20 kHz. (5M)
18. Design a low pass Chebyshev type I filter with maximum gain of 3dB, pass band ripple at
0.5dB, stop band attenuation at 30dB, the pass band frequency is 2.5k rad/sec and a stop
band frequency is 12.5k rad/sec. (8M)
19. Consider the first order IIR filter shown in Figure 3. Assume the quantization operation is
rounding and the filter is implemented with a signed 6 bit fractional arithmetic
representation. Assume x[n]  0.04[n] , α = 0.6 and initially the system is at rest. Check
the filter output exhibits limit cycle oscillation or not. (4M)
