It is more important for teachers to connect with students than to be experts in their

fields

Some people might thank that teachers should be professional in their fields more
than to be close with students. However, I think that teachers should be friendly with
students and it is more important than being experts in their field. Because,
connecting with students can make strong bonding and it can affect students to learn
lots of experiences and wisdom of lives not only limited in academic field. Also, being
too academic without relationship with students can occur discomfort from students.
First of all, having close relationship with students helps them to learn more about
experiences such as how to solve problems with parents, future careers, and other
advices that are in need to live in the world. For instance, I had experience of being
friendly with my teacher. At that time, I had problems with my friends and I asked
advices to teacher how I can solve that problems. As I had strong bonding with my
teacher, I could question easily about it. On top of it, too academic and professional
without close relationship can harm students learning. Having discomfort to own
teacher can be barrier in asking some questions and interrupts learning. For
instance, one of my friends felt difficulty in relationship of her teacher and it provoked
unexpected situation. Whenever she wanted to ask questions, she had to go to see
her friend who had good score in test. To ask, she always went to 5 th floor to meet
her friend but her classroom was on 1 st floor. In this situation, she only had 10
minutes for break time and was in hurry which brings out spraining her ankle. As
result of this, she had to stay at hospital for a week.
To conclude, being expert and professional can give knowledge in need for
academic filed. But having closer relationship can give students more experiences or
learnings in their lives. In regarding this, I firmly agree on that connecting with
students than to be experts in teachers’ field is more important
