Why people prefer hypermarket shopping

The best offer a supermarket offers to its customers is the privilege of
miscellaneous shopping under one roof. This convenience attracts more
customers to these shops as it saves a considerable proportion of time on
shopping. They see the extensive options of products as another benefit.

The next major reason which makes these firms popular is the periodic discount
sales like festive offers and lucky draws. Finally, most supermarkets offer a safe
and secure shopping experience to their customers.
To be precise, most supermarkets attract customers highlighting discounts.

Existing Research 📑
I researched and found existing studies that would validate (or invalidate) the
assumptions, as the validity would influence the design decisions made to address the
needs of the user:

Assumption #1
A significant portion of users who reach the home screen have the intention of buying
specific items.
Users with specific items in mind to be purchased will opt to use the search bar

Assumption #2
User would like to continue browsing for a product that they were looking for in the
previous session.

Research Summary
1. Most buyers may be using the search bar more often than exploring because
they have purchase-intent for specific items

2. Homescreen content can be more personalized for most users tested

Solution 🎉
Based on the data I had from the research, I worked on some wireframes while
removing things which were not essential in nature to the product and adding more

Conclusion 🌟
Doing the competitive analysis was also tremendously useful in helping me understand
the value of knowing usability conventions and seeing how they can be employed or
improved upon.

Given the time I would explore a VR shopping experience, with all the metaverse craze
that’s happening.
