About Rashtriya Raksha University
Rashtriya Raksha University, an Institution of National Importance of India, Pioneering National Security and
Police University of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is established by the Parliament of
India, Act No. 31 of 2020.

The University aims to become an academic-research-training ecosystem for national security and police. Its
endeavors focus on highly professional national security, police education, research, and training through its
qualified civilian and security faculty, committed human resources, motivated participants and students,
intellectually stimulating and professional disciplined environment, and world-wide network, sharing, and
exchange. It aims at providing security and strategic education in the contemporary and futuristic security and
strategic studies and interdisciplinary areas. The University contributes to the vision of India of Peace,
Prosperous and Stable World in alliance with grand strategic cooperation between like-minded nations and
promoting greater understanding between internal security officers, military and para-military forces,
diplomats, civil servants, and civilians to promote the cause of the Nation. It adopts a two-tier approach, at the
national and international levels, in its education, research and training, and extension in order to achieve
capabilities to respond to the needs, expectations, and aspirations of the security and strategic institutions and
forces as well as law-making, governance, judiciary, economy (agriculture-manufacturing-service sectors)
and the civil society organizations.

About School of Physical Education and Sports


The School of Physical Education and Sports (SPES) was established in 2017 with the Purpose to enhance the
standard of sports and to train, young students who want to join and cater their life in security forces to serve the
country. It has been known that to join or to serve any of the security forces, personnel require physical fitness
such as endurance, strength, speed, agility, coordination, balance, reaction, and flexibility as well as a variety of
skills such as marching, weapon handling, sports skills and many more. Keeping all these aspects in mind, the
SPES majorly focuses on training to make the students physically fit. So that they can clear all those competitive
examinations, where clearing the physical fitness test is a criterion. The SPES also focuses on skills
development such as weapon handling and marching, which will teach them the pivotal role of discipline and
control over their body, soul, and mind in their life. SPES also exclusively focuses on the development of sports
skills for all those students who want to make their career in sports or want to play professionally and ultimately,
want to bring laurel for themselves, for the university, state, and for the country.
About the Coach Development Programme (Athletics)

The ‘Coach Development Programme – Athletics is one of the series of events to be organized by School of
Physical Education and Sports, Rashtriya Raksha University for the development and upliftment of sports in
India. The workshop is designed such that participants will gain an array of knowledge from different topics
relevant to problems faced during coaching Athletics. The workshop will foresee stakeholders from various
background, i.e., physical educationist, sports coaches, students, trainers, etc. who are actively involved in
Athletics. A panel of eminent speakers from Indian Athletics will deliver a series of lectures on topics such as,
fundamentals of coaching Athletics, Strength and Conditioning for Throwers, Basic Biomechanics Awareness in
Athletics, Scientific Basis of Throws, Nutritional Periodization and Meal timing for Athletics, Training and
Development of Elite Sprint Performance, Scientific Basis of Jumps and Skill & Coaching Communication. The
speakers will also be involved in answering and clarifying the queries related to the aforementioned topic.
