PRODUCTION/OPERATION PLAN

Technical/Production Description

The primary objective of the technical feasibility analysis will be to assess if the

production can be successfully designed, developed and managed. The analysis determines if

the objectives, production process, and product capacity schedule is meet in order to have

success operation in making the proposed product. The proposed product in San Juan market is

a polvoron made up of Jackfruit Seed. It is called "Jackfruit Seedvoron". It is not just an ordinary

polvoron consumers usually buy because it contains vitamins, protein, minerals and

antioxidants which can strengthen your immune system, Bantilan 2016. The seed is boiled and

directly undergone in the process of drying under the sun. Through this process, the JEAVA as

manufacturer of Jackfruit Seedvoron will used operational process that suited in making the

product and to meet the demand in the target market. The products that will be sold are food

delicacies, in which there are jackfruit seeds as the main ingredient to make a healthy and

delicious choice food.

Objectives of the Study

The general objectives of the feasibility is to determine the technical feasibility of the

study through identifying the most appropriate service delivery process to be use and the best

location for the proposed business;

This study aims the following objectives:

1. To make a product that is naturally made from jackfruit seeds that contains natural

source of nutrients.

2. To perform boiling and drying effectively as the main process of management

production.

3. To determine the potential revenues that can be achieved from the location.

4. To be able to identify the equipments and machineries needed.

5. To identify any potential environmental impacts from the generation of waste at the

JEAVA manufacture.

Productions/Operations Process

The proponent of the study created a comprehensive plan to support the needs of the

business with regard to operation. In order to successfully do it, the management of Jackfruit
Seedvoron made a flow chart of how the production will be into action. Refer below for the

Process Flow Chart

Definition of Processes involved the production

1. Boiling - is cooking food at a relatively high temperature, 212 degrees, in water or

some other water-based liquid. When liquids boil, bubbles caused by water vapor rush

to the surface of the liquid and pop. It's a vigorous process that works best for sturdier

foods; anything delicate can get damaged.

2. Drying - process consisting of the removal of water or another solvent by evaporation

from a solid, semi-solid or liquid.

3. Grinding - is used for the size reduction of solid dry material. It may also improve the

eating quality and/or suitability of the material for further processing.

4. Mixing - includes stirring, beating, blending, binding, creaming, whipping and folding.

In mixing, two or more ingredients are evenly dispersed in one another until they

become one product.

5. Toasting - used to brown the outer surface of foods that don't otherwise require

cooking, such as baked bread or raw nuts. You can toast foods by briefly placing them

under a preheated broiler in the oven or exposing them to lower heat for a longer

period.

6. Molding - is a manufacturing process that involves shaping a liquid or malleable raw

material by using a fixed frame; known as either a mold or a matrix.

7. Packaging - process of building a container or box suitable for a product for transport

and storage.

Product Capacity Schedule

This part will discuss the manufacturing hours, the number of working days in a week,

month and in a year.

The JEAVA Manufacturer will operate from 8:00 AM to 4 PM, a total of eight (8) hours a

day, twenty-six (26) working days of a month and three hundred twelve (312) days in a year.

Before 4:00 PM, the JEAVA manufacturing and its materials should be cleaned, the

packed products should now be inside the cold storage temperature, and garbages should now

be utilizing proper waste disposal methods, recyclable and non-recyclable bins.

Plant/Factory Location

Location of an industry is an important management decision. It is a two-step

decision: first, choice of general area or region and second, the choice of site within the

area selected. Location decision is based on the organisations long-term strategies

such as technological, marketing, resource availability and financial strategies. Plant

location refers to the choice of region and the selection of a particular site for setting up

a business or factory. But the choice is made only after considering cost and benefits of

different alternative sites. It is a strategic decision that cannot be changed once taken. If

at all changed only at considerable loss, the location should be selected as per its own

requirements and circumstances.

The company had an ideal location, it is one where the cost of the product is kept

to minimum, with a large market share, the least risk and the maximum social gain. It is

the place of maximum net advantage or which gives lowest unit cost of production and

distribution. For achieving this objective, Jackfruit Seedvoron plant location shall be

located at Marasigan Street, Poblacion, San Juan Batangas fronting San Juan Public

Market. The company considered it as plant location, aside from it is an ideal location,

the choosen location is aligned with the company 's strategies and by that location the

business can cater a large number of customers. And also it is near in San Juan Public
Market, where the company will distribute the product in some candy stores in San Juan

Batangas. Below is the location of the business.

Figure 10
Plant Location

Plant Layout

Plant layout is a plan for effective utilisation of facilities for the manufacture of

products; involving a most efficient and economical arrangement of machines,

materials, personnel, storage space and all supporting services, within available floor
space. The plant layout is tactically designed to support the smooth process of the our

business. The display area is a place where all finished products that are ready to sell

are being displayed. There would be a business office area which will cater to business

related transactionsa and where the manager of the Jackfruit Seedvoron will be in

office. The store will be the place for the customer to purchase the finished products of

Jackfruit Seedvoron. The preparation kitchen will be the area where the Jackfruit

Seedvoron will be made by the workers.

This layout is an important pre-requisite for efficient operations and also has a

great deal in common with many problems. For the company, this layout is the most

effective physical arrangement, either existing or in plans of industrial facilities i.e

arrangement of machines, processing equipment and service departments to achieve

greatest co-ordination and efficiency of 4M’s (Men, Materials, Machines and Methods)

in a plant.
Lease and Leasehold Improvements

A lease agreement is a document that explains the terms under which a tenant

rents a residential or commercial property from a landlord. Lease agreements are

legally-binding contracts that explain the obligations and rights of both the tenant and

landlord. Leasehold improvements are also known as tenant improvements or build-

outs and are generally made by landlords of commercial properties. Jackfruit Seedvoron

needs to have a lease agreement or leasehold improvements that will take for in the

establishment.

The leasehold improvements of the company that will take for are there will be

some renovations in some parts of the kitchen. The establishment will be having a small

built- in cabinet in kitchen area where the products will produce. Also the toilet bowl,

faucet and stainless sink that are also needed by the workers or employees. Below are

the leasehold improvements and the total cost associated from it.

Waste Disposal System

The collection, processing, and recycling or deposition of the waste materials of human

society. Waste disposal is classified by sources and composition, disposal system are the actions

performed to remove in commercial kitchen from the premises. Appopriate measures need to

be take to dispose food (or the unsafe use). Waste disposal areas should be easily cleanable to

make a polvoron and, when necessary, suitably fly-proofed. The primary revenue center for

the business will come from ongoing a providing waste disposal services, and hazardous

materials disposal. Determining what waste materials were disposed of through time and

exactly where, and determining ownership and disposal methods were proper or improper are

important issues in environmental litigation. At the point, when make a polvoron need a

responsible waste management facility can take care of it, whether that is through recycling,
more reuse or disposal. Will effeciently take care of your waste in an environmentaly cost-

effective way through a process that as possible for you.

Quality Control System

This system defines how a company will achieve the creation and delivery of the

products and services they provide to their customer. Needs to be specific for the product or

services you provide, so it is important to tailor it to your needs. It is expressed as the

organizational goals and aspiration, policies, processes, documented information and resources

needed to implement and maintain it. It is the process that ensures customers recieve products

free from defects and meet their needs. In business must be sure they are offering the benefit

customers seek. Here are the things that the company will do to ensure that the it have a

quality control system among the products being produced and in the processess that

the company have:

 Audit Potential & Existing Suppliers - To help ensure that potential or existing suppliers

deliver high-quality products, operate efficiently, and support continuous improvement,

process surveys and factory audits are pperforme.

 Develop Product Criteria/Specifications - A good plan is only as good as its foundation,

so comprehensive and detailed product specifications are critical to success. An

important component of product quality is knowing the product. And, that requires

detailed product specifications that identify exactly how the item(s) should turn out.

 Test Products  - Product testing has multiple applications, from determining if the

specifications are being met to troubleshooting various issues.  Using applicable regional
and/or industry related standards to measure the product’s properties and evaluate

performance provides assurance of quality throughout the production process.

 Inspect Throughout Production - Controlling quality by utilizing product inspections

throughout the production cycle reduces sourcing risks and cost. Inspections can be

conducted at any point throughout the production process, with the maximum benefit

observed when strategically employed at the beginning, in-process and pre-shipment.

The idea is to identify, contain and resolve issues as quickly as possiblem

 Focus On & Support Continuous Improvement - Define, evaluate, implement,

document and review results.  Strategically planned continuous improvement initiates

positive results.
Chapter lV
ORGANIZATIONAL PLAN
Legal Form of Business

There are various forms of business which are sole proprietorship, partnerships,

and corporations that affects how businesses are taxed, how profits are distributed, and

what regulations must be followed. The form of ownership that a business will choose

corresponds to the growth, taxation, and future of the company. In choosing a legal form

of business, there's a lot of consideration and No hard and fast formula to pick the right

form of business.

The type of business ownership will be a partnership; in which partners pool

money, skills, and other resources, and share profit and loss in accordance with the

terms of the partnership agreement. In the absence of such agreement, a partnership is

assumed to exit where the participants in an enterprise agree to share the associated

risks and rewards proportionately. The company choose partnership as form of the

business because partnership entail more than one person in the decision-making

process, it’s important to discuss a wide variety of issues up front. Partnership allows

the owners to draw on the resources and expertise of the co-partners. It is enerally an

inexpensive and easily formed business structure. The majority of time spent starting a

partnership often focuses on developing the partnership agreement. In a partnership,

each partner is equally invested in the success of the business. This could be beneficial

in terms of securing credit, or by simply doubling the seed money. Also complementary
skills and additional contacts of each pattern can lead to the achievement of greater

financial results together than would be possible apart. Mutual support and motivation

are needed for the business to last longer.

Capitalization

Some business owners conduct their capital searches along the philosophical

lines of "Whatever I can raise, I can use." Others rely on their business plans for a

rough sense of what they'll need and how they'll use it. Capitalization is the initial

investment or seed money for a start-up, and it's usually the investment that the

business owner and any other investors make in the firm. The proponents have

capitalization plan that projects the company's future capital requirements. The partners

agreed to contribute an equal sharing of capital in amount of Php. 50,000 each.

Organizational Structure
An organizational structure of the business will act as the backbone and support concerning

decision making and other processes of the business. Choosing the best type of your

organizational system that will use helps to manage the entire business to do the roles of each

staff to have a gopod flow of operation. According to Devany, an organizational structure is the

visual diagram of the company that describes what employees do, whom they report and how

decisions are made accross the busines. So it is very important to decide what type of structure

will use by the business.

The researchers will use the Line Organizational Structure for the business organization. It is

one of the simplest type of organizational structure. It is easy to regulate as the head has the
Manager
direct control over its subordinates.

Production Manager Bookkeeper

Worker Worker

Figure 13

Organizational Structure

direct control or has the responsibility to the whole operation of the business and to its
subordinates. He/She has the knowledge to come up with business strategies, objective and

policies within the organization. The bookkeeper is the one whose job is to keep records of the

financial affairs of the business and the production manager has the control in making the

product and to the workers. The proponents will hire two (2) workers that will do the actual

production of Jackfruit Seedvoron.

Gantt Chart of Activities

A Gantt chart, commonly used in project management, is one of the most popular and

useful ways of showing activities (tasks or events) displayed against time. On the left of the

chart is a list of the activities and along the top is a suitable time scale. Each activity is

represented by a bar; the position and length of the bar reflects the start date, duration and

end date of the activity. This is useful to keep tasks on track when there is a large team and

multiple stakeholders when the scope changes. Gantt charts are useful for planning and

scheduling projects. They help you assess how long a product should take, determine the

resources needed, and plan the order in which you'll complete tasks, can immediately see what

should have been achieved by a certain date and, if the product is behind schedule, you can

take action to bring it back on course. They're also helpful for managing the dependencies

between tasks.
