• Reinforcement Theory
• Need - Deduction Theory

• Principles of Behaviour -1943.

• Hull used the term drive to refer to the state of tension
or arousal caused by biological or physiological needs.

• A drive creates an unpleasant state, a tension that

needs to be reduced.
• Need – Drive – Activity – Goal – Reduced drive.

• Every need has drive attached to it.

• B = D*H
Educational Implication

• Focus on the satisfaction of a need.

• Provide teaching as per child’s need.
• Put clear objectives.
• Based on Thorndike and Pavlov’s work.
Kolb’s Model of Experiential Learning
David Kolb
Experiential Learning

“The process whereby knowledge is

created through the transformation
of experience”
(Kolb, 1984).

Kolb’s Learning Cycle

1. Concrete Experience (मत ू G अनभ

Kolb’s Learning Styles
Token Economy

• Token economy is a system in which targeted behaviours are

reinforced with tokens (secondary reinforcers) and later
exchanged for rewards (primary reinforcers).
