Indigo

By Louis Fischer
• Indigo is an excerpt from Fischer’s book-‘The Life of
Mahatma Gandhi’. This is a biography of Mahatma
Gandhi (1869-1948). He led the fight for Indian
independence from British rule, tirelessly pursued a
strategy of passive resistance, and was assassinated
only a few months after independence was
achieved. It talks of British high handedness,
oppression and the contribution of the masses to
the freedom movement.
