2. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS:
Prevention:
Obtain special instructions before use, and DO NOT handle
until all safety precautions have been read and understood.
Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/hot surfaces. – No
smoking.
Keep container tightly closed and take precautionary
measures against static discharge; ground/bond container
and receiving equipment.
Use explosion-proof electrical/ventilating/lighting
equipment and non-sparking tools.
Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area and DO NOT
breathe mist/vapors.
Use personal protective equipment; protective helmet/eye
protection/face protection/respirator/protective
gloves/protective clothing/protective boots as required.
Wash hands, face, and other necessary parts thoroughly,
and gargle after handling.
Avoid release to the environment.
Response:
In case of fire: Use water fog, dry chemical, foam, carbon
dioxide, or dry sand for extinction.
IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest
in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical
advice/attention.
IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Get medical
advice/attention if you feel unwell.
IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes.
Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue
rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical
advice/attention.
IF exposed or concerned, or if you feel unwell: Get medical
advice/attention.
Storage:
Keep container tightly closed. Avoid direct sunlight, open
flame, ignition sources. Store in cool/well ventilated
area. Store locked up.

Disposal:
Dispose of contents/container in accordance with
local/regional/national/international regulations.
Do not reuse the container for any other purpose. Dispose
of in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

EYE CONTACT :
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for several
minutes and get medical attention.
Part eyelids with fingers to assure complete flushing.
Check for and remove contact lenses if easily possible.
SKIN CONTACT :
Immediately remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Flush
skin with large amounts of water, clean off with soap and
water. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.
INGESTION :
Do NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth with water. Never give
anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Keep the
affected person warm and at rest. Get medical attention
immediately.
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN :
Treat symptomatically.
SPECIAL HAZARDS :
Flammable liquid(Flash point = 11.7 oC). Vapors may cause
flash fire.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS:
Do not flush into sewer, river or any body of water.
CONTAINMENT/CLEAN-UP METHODS:
Absorb or cover with dry earth, sand or other non-combustible
material and transfer to sealable containers. Large spills:
Dike far ahead of liquid spill for later disposal.
Use non-sparking tools and equipment.
Stop leak if possible without personal risk.
Avoid runoff to sewers or waterways.
Ventilation:
Use only under local exhaust or general ventilation.
STORAGE
Storage Conditions:
Protect from direct sunlight. Store in dark, cool, and
well-ventilated area. Keep away from heat, flame, and all
sources of ignition. Ground and bond containers and
equipment to prevent build-up of electrostatic charges.
Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from alkaline
solution, amines, alcohol amines, aldehydes, strong
oxidizers, chlorinated compounds, etc. Store locked up.
Store in a segregated and approved area.

Packaging Material:
Use UN approved containers or containers approved by local
and national authorities.
ENGINEERING CONTROLS :
Provide general ventilation. Use closed system or local
exhaust ventilation. Provide safety shower and eye wash
station near work area.

CARCINOGENICITY:
Classified in 3 (Unclassifiable as to carcinogenicity in
humans) by IARC and A4 (Not classifiable as a human
carcinogen) by ACGIH.
REPRODUCTIVE TOXICITY:
In the two-generation reproduction study by the drinking
water medication using rats, there was no influence on
fertility and growth of the born pups.
On the other hand, no teratogenicity was observed in rats
in the growth toxicity and the teratogenicity test.
However, reproductive toxicity, such as decline in a
pregnancy rate, an increase in embryo absorption, and an

ASPIRATION HAZARD:
The death of cardiopulmonary arrest is observed within 24
hours by the intratracheal administration in the rat.
(Kinematic viscosity: ca. 1.6 mm2/s)
CONTAMINATED PACKAGING :
Empty the container completely before disposal.
