What To Sell On Ebay...

I always suggest that for a low cost start up you should create inventory with things that are already
in your home. Everyone has something to sell. Maybe it is the never opened gift from Christmas, the
clothes that the kids have outgrown, excess books, vintage jewelry, baby items, etc. By starting out
selling these items you don’t have to come out of pocket to purchase inventory. KEY: To make
money you must stay out of debt. Never charge inventory with the intent of paying it off as you sell
the products. This is a big mistake.

It is also fundamental to specialize in one or two categories. What are your passions? What do you
know the most about? What are your hobbies? For me, I love to read and I homeschool so I always
have books and magazines that I can sell. I also love to buy clothes for my boys and niece. I have
figured out how to buy Gymboree and Gap for the price you would pay at Wal-Mart, Target, or K-
mart. I take care of their clothes and I resell them when we are done with them. I also buy clothes
just to list on eBay. I make the most money off of selling children’s clothing and I will teach you how
to do it too.

Another option to consider is collectibles. I know many people who sell baseball cards, Star Trek
memorabilia, comic books, and the like. Someone out there probably collects something you have a
lot of or have access to. Old vintage toys sell for ridiculous amounts of money. Just do a search for
auctions like these: Star Wars, John Deere Pedal Tractor, Transformers, Cabbage Patch Doll, Barbie,
Strawberry Shortcake, and Fisher Price. Go check your mom’s attic! :o)

If you are looking to go where the money is, here are some great places to find out what is hot on
eBay right now. I highly recommend the TeraPeak site. It is jam packed with info that can save you a
lot of time and money.

In my experience, things that sell well used or new include:

• High End Children’s Clothes

• Homeschool Materials

• **Direct Sales products (Pampered Chef, Stampin’ Up, Creative Memories, Taste of Home)

• Purses and Shoes

• Baby Items – of all kinds!

• Personalized Items

• Media Collections (CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, etc.)

• Maternity Clothes

• Plus Size Clothing

• Antiques

• Books

• Cameras, Computers & Electronics

**If you earn these Direct Sales products by having a home show or like me tend to find the retired
stuff or older stuff at yard sales or thrift stores, then these are good to sell. DO NOT sell these on
eBay if you are a consultant. That is illegal according to most, if not all, direct sales contracts. I, by
the way, am not a consultant of any company. I have simply hosted lots of shows, gone to lots of
garage sales and thrift stores, and have been blessed by others who have chosen to get out of their
business.

Once you have accumulated some funds in your PayPal account then you can start buying to sell.
Depending on what you want to sell and where you buy it from, (some of wholesalers website )you
may need tax id #. You can obtain this from your local government website. If you purchase from
wholesalers there is a greater chance that you will need the tax ID #.
