POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS
► POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS

Los possessive pronouns son un tipo de pronombres (palabra que sustituye a un nombre o
sustantivo) que indican posesión, es decir, a quién pertenece algo.

► I ----- Mine - mío/ mía / míos / mías


Examples:
► YOU ----- Yours - tuyo/ tuya / tuyos / tuyas -This is my cat --- This is mine.
► HE ----- His - suyo/ suyos (de él) -This is our house --- This is ours.
-Those are their pencils --- Those are theirs.
► SHE ----- Hers - suyo/ suyas (de ella)
► IT ----- Its - - suyo/ suyas
► WE ----- Ours - nuestro / nuestra / nuestros / nuestras
► YOU ----- Yours - vuestro / vuestra / vuestros / vuestras
► THEY ----- Theirs - suyo / suya / suyos / suyas

We use whose to ask a question about possession:

► ONE / ONES
To avoid repeating yourself, you can use ONE when you are talking about a singular
countable noun or ONES when you are talking about a plural countable noun.
Examples:
- I asked for a glass, but they did not have one.
- I like those shoes, but let's buy these ones.
- My car is the red one.
► INDEFINITE PRONOUNS
We use indefinite pronouns to refer to people or things without
saying exactly who or what they are.
► Expresiones con valor posesivo
Sustituyen a un elemento dado anteriormente, o que se emplean como
adjetivos, con valor enfático.

- My own, - your own, - his own, - her own, - its own, - our own, - their own.

Examples:
• John is not going to borrow my book today. He has his own one

DO AND MAKE
Ambos indican ejecución o realización de algo.
► Make: La actividad general de construir, estructurar o manufacturar algo
y de preparar alimentos. -He makes baskets for a living
► Do: El hecho de ejecutar una labor determinada, indicada por un
gerundio precedido por The. -She does the washing

REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS
Se usan:
Para indicar que la acción recae en el mismo que la ejecuta

Para indicar que se ejecuta una acción sin ayuda o sin compañía. El
reflexivo va precedido de by se traduce por "solo", "sin ayuda".

Para dar especial énfasis al ejecutor o al receptor de una acción. El


reflexivo se puede colocar después del nombre, del pronombre o al
final de la frase.
