Typhidot test 04-Jun-2020

S. typhi IgG Negative . Negative

S. typhi IgM Negative . Negative

Results Interpretation:

IgM Positive: Suggestive of Acute Typhoid Fever

IgM Positive, IgG Positive: Suggestive of Acute Typhoid Fever (in the middle stage of infection)

IgM Negative, IgG Positive: Suggestive of Relapse or Re-infection or Previous Infection

Important Information:

· Generally, a negative test result excludes Typhoid / Enteric Fever. However, at initial stage (first few days) of infection or if
antibiotics were started earlier, the test results can also be Negative.
· In case of suspicion of typhoid fever, while test results are negative, the test should be repeated after 2-3 days for
confirmation.
· Please note that Typhidot Serology is not a gold standard to rule out Typhoid / Enteric Fever, as infection with other
sero-group D Salmonella, False Positive test result may also appear.
· Any Positive test result must always be interpreted along with the clinical condition and Blood / Bone Marrow / Stool /
Urine Culture report(s), as “Typhoid IgG / IgM” results may appear Positive even after completion of antibiotic treatment
and may continue till more than 8 months.
