Warehousings Operations Mangement

12th week Project

The overall objective of project work is to explore and observe the practical application of
warehousing operations and practices in a real life context (in industry sector). Also, conducting a
project will enhance your writing and presentation skills needed to apply for better job
opportunities.

Presenting a report and a presentation that includes the following:

Warehousing Management
Describe background of the company selected, Specify the classification of the 1
warehouse according to its role in the supply
Illustrate the main activities performed, & value –added services if any. 2
Determine the storage system(s)/configuration(s) employed in the warehouse 2
& show the material handling equipment used.
Describe the layout of the warehouse in terms of the product flow & space 2
allocation.
Identify the Key performance indicators that used to evaluate the warehouse 2
performance
Describe the application of information technology systems 1
Propose recommendations for enhancing the total performance of the 2
warehouse

Tips for writing and delivering the report


 Use Times New Roman Font for all the report.
 Use font size 16 and bold for the titles and main heading, 14 Bold for the
subtitles and sub headings, 12 Bold for the sub-sub titles. And finally for the body of the text use
12 only and not bold font. Don’t forget Times New Roman font type!
 At the end of your report, please provide all the references you have used, for example the company
website or any other websites that you have used to get some information’s, the books you have used, any
magazine articles.

Tips for delivering the presentation:


 Minimize the number of slides as much as you can: between 15-20 slides.
 Stay on time: you have only max. 20 mins for the group.
 Use photos, graphics and tables to help tell your story.
 Do not read the presentation!!!!!
 Keep your text simple by using bullet points, numbering or short sentences.
 Make labels for charts and graphs understandable.
 Make slide backgrounds subtle and keep them consistent.
 Use high contrast between background color and text color.
 Choose a font size that your audience can read from a distance.
 Check the spelling and grammar.
