TASK 9 - EXPLAIN (page 48) (BSMA 2E_KRIZAH MARIE CABALLERO)

Explain
Answer the following questions:
1. What do you think is the role of the artist and artisan in the 21st century society?
An artist is defined as an art practitioner that produces indirectly functional art. On
contrary, an artisan produces and creates functional art that can utilize by human beings. Artists
and Artisans are the pillars of our society. We need artists as much as we need artisans. They
both serve people for a long time by providing us directly functional Arts. In the 21st century,
they hold the opportunity of hope in their consciousness and their work by giving a different sort
of society. When we desire to reach out to the hearts of our fellow countrymen, we frequently
turn to the arts to successfully express and communicate our deepest worries so that they can be
heard, seen, and understood. Art is all about connecting with people's emotions. It's both
personal and typical at the same time. Art also has a significant influence on a society's culture.
While some argue that an artist's goal is to portray the beauty of the world around them, others
defend that the true value of an artwork lies in its ability to express truth in a way that positively
influences people. Artists and artisans are capable of feeling emotionally and sensitively, and
they can communicate their feelings through their work.
2. In what ways artists serve society? How about artisans?
Artists serve society mainly by the entertainment they could offer people as they can
evoke sorts of emotions from its viewers. By this effect on people, artists can also serve society
by using their arts as a medium to either raise awareness or to speak up for the society itself as
arts can be a language to communicate.
By creating art and expressing himself is already a great way to serve in society. Artists
feel better and more freedom while creating art, and they're motivated to do so. They can also
sell their artwork if they want to. They can also serve society by providing masterpieces that will
entertain, motivate, and inspire people. Artists may only produce indirectly functional art, but it
is needed, especially in today's society. We need something to draw our minds away from
stressful things.
The work of artisans is noticed and evaluated in the same way as the work of artists is,
but in different ways and on various levels. The relevance and usability of the artisans' work
make them significant in our daily lives. Our survival is highly dependent on the work of the
artisans. Artisans' work provides us with comfort, convenience, pleasure, and joy in our daily
lives. From our most necessities to our most extravagant desires, artisans are there to make life
easier.
