ASSIGNMENT QUESTION
OBJECTIVE
The assignment is focused on the role and impact of school principal leadership style on
performance management. This assignment has two parts. The first part involves an
analytical review of an academic journal, and it is followed by the second part, which is
undertaking an empirical study through the qualitative research method related to the same
topic at an educational institution.
Tugasan tersebut difokuskan pada peranan dan kesan gaya kepemimpinan pengetua
sekolah terhadap pengurusan prestasi. Tugasan ini mempunyai dua bahagian. Bahagian
pertama melibatkan tinjauan analisis jurnal akademik, dan diikuti oleh bahagian kedua, yang
melakukan kajian empirikal melalui kaedah penyelidikan kualitatif yang berkaitan dengan
topik yang sama di institusi pendidikan.

Based on the analysis of leadership styles on performance by Jacob, M.S., Atang, A.N. (2014)
in Part 1, there are six emerging themes of the analysis as shown in Table 1.

This study can be enhanced through the qualitative research method by conducting an
interview with selected respondents. The qualitative data from the interviews will help us
understand better in terms of perceptions, ideas or views of an individual.

bual dengan responden terpilih. Data kualitatif dari temu bual akan membantu kita
memahami dengan lebih baik dari segi persepsi, idea atau pandangan seseorang individu.
You are required to conduct an in-depth interview with 2 (TWO) senior teachers (known as
key informants) who have taught more than five years at any school/institution in order to
address the following research question i.e. “From the perspective of teachers, to what
extent the leadership ability of a school principal play crucial role in teachers’ satisfaction
and commitment?”

You may use the emerging themes as a guideline for you to prepare 10 (TEN) semi-
structured questions for the in-depth interviews. In your report, you need to fulfill the
following tasks.

Anda mungkin menggunakan tema yang muncul sebagai panduan untuk anda menyiapkan
10 (SEPULUH) soalan separa berstruktur untuk wawancara mendalam. Dalam laporan anda,
anda perlu memenuhi tugas berikut.
1) Profile of key informants - detail out the profile of these two key informants. Profil

2) Semi-structured questions - construct 10 semi-structured questions related to the

3) Qualitative Data Analysis - analyse your qualitative data descriptively and narratively in a
thematic format (NOT in a dialogue/conversation form or raw data). The analysis
should be in a combination of the reported speech or direct speech. Analisis Data
Kualitatif - analisis data kualitatif anda secara deskriptif dan naratif dalam format
tematik (BUKAN dalam bentuk dialog / perbualan atau data mentah). Analisis harus
dalam kombinasi ucapan yang diluahkan atau ucapan langsung.
