1. Introduction
The purpose of this document is to describe the NAM TMS OTM implementation’s workflow with step
by step illustration. Following are the workflows covered in the document.

1.1. User Types


Below is the list of roles of users.

Transportation Demand-Requestor
Distribution Coordinator
LOGISTICS_MANAGER
AREA_LOGISTICS_MANAGER

1.2. Intended Audience


All the users having access granted to OTM application in any capacity can refer to this user manual to
know more on executing certain functions provisioned in the solution.

1.3. System Requirements


To run the OTM application your need following basic requirements:

Step1. Internet connection


Step2. Web browser, for example Internet Explorer version 8 or Mozilla Firefox 4.0
Step3. Access rights allocated by System Administrator

2. How to Issue Spot Tender to Carrier
This process uses the OTM broadcast tender function. This function makes a shipment available for one
or more carriers to bid on. Carrier bids are held until the end of the spot tender time frame or until the
DC coordinator awards a Carrier. If the DC Coordinator does not award the tender before the tender
time period ends, the tender is awarded to the lowest bidding Carrier. The losing Carriers are sent a
withdrawal notice and the tender is closed. Note Spot functions are part of the Spot market meaning the
Carriers and submitted costs are not part of a contracted rate.

2.1. Issuing a Spot Tender


Step1. Please follow below steps “Shipment Manager Non Bulk Shipmentsselect Shipment and
click on ActionTender to CarrierSpot Bid Tender

Step2. Click on “Spot Bid Tender” link.

Step3. Provide Expected Response Time and Add/Select/Unselect Service and then click on Submit to
issue a spot Bid.

This concludes steps to issue a spot bid.

2.2. Verifying Tender Status on the Shipment
Once Spot Tender is issued from DC, Shipment status related with Tender will change. Please follow
below given steps in order to verify if Tender Status on shipment.

Step1. Verify below given two status.


 REVIEWED = REVIEWED_EXECUTE
 SECURE RESOURCES = SECURE RESOURCES_TENDER RESPONSE OPEN

This concludes steps for verification of Tender Statuses on Shipment.

2.3. Accept Spot Tender on the Shipment

DC Role

Below Path Tender manager -> Shipment ID-> search -> Spot Bid Tender Status provide the status of the
Spot Bid

Click on the ID to review the Bid amount entered by various Service Provider and select the optimal one
and hit “Award Bid to Service Provider”

After it’s awarded to specific Service Provider status original Spot Bid will be withdrawn from all Carrier
and Ordinary Tender sent to selected carrier with Outstanding Tender offer status.

Carrier will follow the standard Tender acceptance step for this Tender
