37. TIGERS TRS - 2100 RADAR at CBY . VAF CBY consists

with all the AD measures including RADAR, Interceptors, SAMs and
AAAs. Therefore, a

a. Need (20/2) x 1.15= 11.5, 12x MiG 27 AC to allocate to destroy an

en runway.

b. Implications of successful Neutralization . VAF would not able to

operate their MiG23 FGA for 24hr.

c. Deductions . We would use our (20/4.5) = 4.44, 5x

MiG23 to neutralize en fighter airfield at KKS with adequate
payload.

d. Tasks . Plan air ops to neutralize en airfield at KKS with

our 5x MiG 23MF FGAs.

MIG27 GROUND ATTACK AC

38. Range . The maximum ROA with 9x250kg bombs is 295km.

The capability chart for air assert is attached to Annex ‘A’.

39. Weight of Attack . The maximum weight of attack capability

would be 9x500kg bombs with the ROE 227km for Hi-Lo-Hi flight profile.

40. Operational Capabilities . MiG 27 aircraft available at KAT

and it is capable for ground attack op in both day and night time.

41. Reserve . Own Aircraft fleet consists of 12xMiG 27 Ground

Attack aircraft at KAT with 03 sorties per day. The attrition rate would be
15% with en all four AD layers.

42. Deduction . The following deduction would be considered:

a. MiG-27 would be inadequate to cover the en airfield at PLY.

b. MiG 27 can carry total of 135Ton bombs within initial day of

op.

c. Need (20/2) x 1.15= 11.5, 12x MiG 27 AC to allocate to

destroy an en runway.

37. Task . Plan to employ 23nos of MiG 27 AC to neutralize the

en Airfields and RADARS located at en Air Bases except PLY.

KFIR GROUND ATTACK AC

43. Range . The maximum ROA with 1.5Ton bombs would be

463km with Hi-Lo-Hi flight profile. The capability chart for air assert is
attached to Annex ‘A’.

44. Weight of Attack . The maximum weight of attack capability

would be 1.5Ton bombs with the ROA 463km for Hi-Lo-Hi flight profile.

45. Operational Capabilities . Kfir aircraft available at KAT and

it is capable for ground attack op in both day and night time.

46. Reserve . Own Aircraft fleet consists of 12xKfir Ground Attack

aircraft at KAT with 03 sorties per day.

47. Deduction . The following deduction would be considered:

a. Kfir would be adequate to cover all the en airfields in Sri

Lanka.

b. Kfir can carry total of 135Ton bombs within initial day of op.

c. Need (40/4.5)x1.15= 10.2, 11 Kfir aircraft to allocate to

destroy an en runway.

38. Task . Plan to employ 11nos of Kfir AC to neutralize the en

Airfields and RADARS located at en Air Bases in Sri Lanka.

F-7GS INTERCEPTOR AC

48. Range . The maximum ROA with 04xAAMs, 01x30mm gun

would be 363km. The capability chart for air assert is attached to Annex
‘A’.

49. Weight of Attack . The maximum weight of attack capability would

be 04xAAMs, 01x30mm gun with the ROE 363km.

50. Operational Capabilities . F-7GS aircraft available at KAT

and it is capable for air to air attack op only day time

51. Reserve . Own Aircraft fleet consists of 16xF-7GS air to air

attack aircraft at KAT with 03 sorties per day.
