Kuchipudi is one among the 9 classical dance forms of India.

It is a performing art
that originated in a village of Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, India.
Kuchipudi follows the treatise"Natya Shastra" and connects traditionally with
temples, spiritual faiths and travelling bards. This dance form is supposed to be
there from 10th century. The muslim king Tanisha gave the land of kuchipudi to the
Brahmin performers. The 8 families who performed before him includes Vempati,
Vedantam, Pasumarthi, Chinta, Yeleswarupu, Tadepalli, Jyosula, Bhagavatula.
