1.INTRODUCTION

This report deals with the water audit of G H Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur. Here we
walk through survey, collected secondary data such as Detail of source of fresh water , water
storage capacity ,water used area and taps in college campus ,waste water generating system and
rain water harvesting system of the college .The main objective of water audit is to prepare
reference report on water conservation measure to maximize water saving and minimizes water
losses.

2.WATER CONSUMPTION AND WASTE WATER SOURCES

2.1 Detail Of Source Of Fresh Water And Its Consumption:-

The main source of fresh water in college campus is well . The fresh water is mainly used for
drinking , housekeeping ,gardening , domestic activity and new construction project. Details of the
well are given in table 2.1

2.3:- Water use area and tap in College Campus:-

Water is clearly used for drinking, washing, toilet, gardening and domestic activity. Audit team
visited various department and building to determine appliances. The details of washroom, toilets
, taps and leakages are given in table 2.3

OBSERVATION:-

-Daily requirement of water is 200000 litre/day.


-100000 litre of water is used for college and hostel respectively.
-The college has three ROs located at A,B&C wing .The purifying capacity of ROs are 1000
LPH,500 LPH, 500 LPH for A,B&C wing respectively.
- Daily usage of RO water 4000-5000 Litres per day.
-For purifying the daily RO water, for 1000 litres of RO water,2000 litres of water is wasted and
for 500 litres around 1400 litres of water is wasted.
-For College front garden in A,B&C wing rainwater harvesting is used.

2.4:-Waste Water Generation Sources:-


At present waste water generated from various department canteen, Mess, washroom, washbasin
and RO waste water etc is discharge into drain line. It should be collected in same tank and treat
in proposed STP and ETP plants. After that treated water is reused in activity such as gardening
and washroom etc.
