Dear Aspirants,
We welcome you to one of the highly respected places of learning, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV),
accredited with “A” grade by NAAC. For more than fifty years, the University has been providing an avenue for
unleashing your potential to realize your dreams. This university has emerged as a premier institution of higher
learning in Central India by creating, advancing and disseminating knowledge. It is well known for its diversified
programme structure, multidisciplinary research and value based education, thereby, contributing towards
educational, economic and social development of humanity at large. We provide excellent learning environment
for pursuing various professional programmes in the university.
Academic excellence is the highest priority in this University. The University Teaching Departments offer
undergraduate, post-graduate and research programmes in sixteen faculties. It is amongst the first few Universities
in the country to introduce innovative and integrated programmes in the areas of science, engineering, technology,
management, law, commerce and media. Seven teaching departments of the University are supported by UGC
under its Special Assistance Programme (SAP) scheme. We take pride for and value our highly respected,
experienced, qualified, expert and committed faculty members, researchers and technical staff who are engaged in
world-class teaching - learning and research.
The University adopts latest techniques, innovative pedagogy and teaching methods to create an effective and

As per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya is overall assessed at
112 rank among Indian Universities and at 31 rank among Institutes of Pharmacy in India.

HOW TO APPLY:
1. General rules of admission in various programmes
1.1. The candidate is advised to apply for admission only if he/she fulfills the eligibility
requirements. The onus of checking appropriate eligibility lies with the candidate.
1.2. Applicants are required to submit hard copy along with required documents to concerned
Department/Schools/Institute/Centre (Postal addresses are given in Information
brochure).
1.3. On-line [www.mponline.gov.in] application form is to be submitted only for B. C. A., P. G.
D. C. A., M. Sc. (Computer Science), M. Sc. (Information Technology) and M. B. A.
(Computer Management) programmes. No hard copy of application is required.
1.4. Following Department/Schools/Institute/Centre shall have admission through Entrance
test/ Merit followed by counseling:
1.5. If applicants wish to be considered for more than one programme, then they must apply in
separate application form for each programme.
1.6. The name of the candidate must be the same as given in the mark sheet of the qualifying
examination of the Board/University. Competent authorities should certify the
discrepancies in the names of various mark sheets, if any.
1.7. Candidate is advised to mark/write correctly his/her category and required to enclose
certificate to claim the benefit. Change of category shall not be accepted thereafter.
1.8. Candidate is required to report at the given date and time at the test centre by concerned
Department/Schools/Institute/Centre.
1.9. The candidates who fail to indicate the appropriate reservation category in the respective
column of the application form will not have any claim for the reservation later on.
1.10. Non-appearance in the Entrance test/ Merit followed by counseling, for whatsoever
reason, will automatically disqualify the candidature for admission.
1.11. The information provided by the applicant in the application form will be verified at the
time of counseling / admission from the original documents by the authorities of
University. If it is found that a successful applicant has provided incorrect/ false
information or has withheld some relevant information at the time of filling up the
application form, the applicant shall be debarred from admission. Applicant’s admission
shall be treated as cancelled without giving any prior notice.
1.12. In case any Board of examination/ University / Institute does not show percentage of
marks in the mark sheet, a certificate from the competent authority of the Board/
University / Institute must be produced stating equivalent percentage of marks as well
as conversion formula used, along with the mark sheet at the time of admission.
1.13. The decision of the University Authority shall be final and binding in the matter relating
to admission. As per the directives of statutory bodies/ Government of Madhya Pradesh
if any rules are modified and the same shall be binding on the applicants admission.
1.14. Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, will use all reasonable endeavors to deliver courses,
duration and other services in accordance with the descriptions set out in these
guidelines. The University reserves the right to rename any programme degree, make
variations in the contents and methods of delivery of courses and other services, to
discontinue course and other service and to merge or combine courses, if such action is
reasonably considered to be necessary.
1.15. Students from other University after getting admission are required to enroll themselves
as per University rules.
1.16. The admission to various programmes will be strictly as per the Government of Madhya
Pradesh reservation policy.
1.17. Any legal dispute regarding Admission-2017 is subject to Indore jurisdiction.
1.18. No written communication will be provided. Applicants are advised to see the
university website. University reserves the right to modify / alter any information
provided in advertisement at any stage.
3. Age Limit:
3.1. As per the directives of Government of Madhya Pradesh, the upper age limit for male
candidates in admission to undergraduate programmes is 23 years whereas for
postgraduate degree programmes it is 28 years as on July 01, 2017. There is no upper
age limit for female candidates.
3.2. As per the UGC/Government of Madhya Pradesh guidelines for admission, there shall
be no age bar for programmes offered by Department of Life Long Learning and Yoga
centre.
3.3. A relaxation of three years in upper age limit for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled
Tribes (ST), and Other backward classes (OBC) shall be provided for the applicants of
Madhya Pradesh only.
3.4. For candidate belonging to Person With Disability (PWD) (Divyang) upper age limit for
admission to under graduate and Post graduate programmes will be as per the
Guidelines and rules for admission framed by Government of Madhya Pradesh.
5.7. If less than half seat falls under reservation, then the seat will not be available: in case
the proportion of seat is between half and one, it will be treated as one.
5.8. If reserved seats remain vacant on the day of counseling, the seat will be converted to
unreserved category on the basis of merit.
5.9. To avail benefit of reservation a certificate from a Competent Authority should be
produced.
5.10. The candidate (applicants) must indicate explicitly the category for which he / she
wants to avail the advantage of reservation for admission. This option will, in no case,
be allowed to be changed.
5.11. The candidate admitted under NRI category will not be transferred to any other
category.
5.12. Conversion of vacant seats among reserved categories (SC / ST / OBC) will be done as
per M.P. Government directives.
5.13. Jammu and Kashmir Migrants quota seats: One seat in each program shall be reserved
for sons/daughters of the persons displaced from the state of Jammu and Kashmir
settled in M.P. on or before 1st January, 1999. Such candidates shall have to produce a
certificate from the S.D.O. (Revenue) of the concerned district in prescribed Performa.
Sons/ Daughters of the employees of M.P. Govt., who have served in the State of
Jammu and Kashmir for curbing insurgency, are also covered under this quota. Such
candidates should have passed their qualifying examination from the State of Jammu
and Kashmir. Candidates would be required to produce a certificate. The certificate
should be produced at the time of admission.
5.14. Jammu and Kashmir Resident Quota seats: One seat in each programme shall be
reserved on over and above basis for residents of Jammu and Kashmir. The candidates
seeking admission against these reserved seats shall be required to appear in Common
Entrance Test conducted by University and submit appropriate certificate issued by the
competent authority at the time of counseling. This reservation shall be over and above
the sanctioned intake.
6. Other Important Points
6.1 Any situation, not covered by provisions mentioned in this brochure shall be referred to
the Organizing Committee which will work within the ambit of Act, Statutes and
Ordinances of Devi Ahilya University, Indore and its decision shall be final.
6.2 The legal disputes, if any, shall be settled in the within the legal jurisdiction of Indore.
6.3 Ragging, teasing, torturing or making nuisance in any way inside or outside the campus
has been declared as a serious offence and strict action shall be taken against those
who will be found involved in such activities.
6.4 If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the University, the concerned student
shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her explanation is not found satisfactory, the
University would expel him/her from the institution.
6.5. In case it comes to the notice that an applicant was able to secure admission based on
forged certificate/s or by furnishing wrong information, willingly concealing adverse
facts or due to administrative or official negligence, his/her admission will be cancelled
immediately.
6.6. If a student, after taking regular admission, fails to maintain 75% of the attendance for
each subject in the course will not be eligible to appear in tests/final exam.
6.7. The fee of individual department/Schools/Institute/Centre is shown in Table – 2.
6.8. Change in Department/Schools/Institute/Centre wise fee structure is under
consideration. Any change in the fees will be notified before admission.
7. Hostel Accommodation:
University accommodates limited students. There are four boy’s hostels and five girl’s
hostels. Selected candidates are requested to contact as early as possible Chief Warden
Hostels, DAVV, Indore. Students staying in hostel are not allowed to work outside in
part/full time. Hostel fees excluding mess charges will be approx. 15000/- PA. Fee is
subject to change as per the University guideline. You may please contact +91-731-

8. Refund of Fee:
If any candidate leaves the course before the 14 August 2017, the fee will be returned to
him/her after deducting Rs. 1000/- of the fees deposited by him/her. Only caution
money will be refunded if a candidate leaves any course after the said date.
In cases where candidates have fetched an undertaking to the effect that their admission
may be deemed cancelled in case they fail to produce their result of qualifying
examination with required eligibility percentages by September 30, 2017, there will be
no refund of fee deposited.
Where a provisionally admitted student is declared fail, his/her fee deposited will be
refunded after deducting 10% of the fees deposited by him/her.

IMPORTANT POINTS:
1 University has full rights to amend the Fee structure from time to time. Any such
changes are applicable to admitted students for the session 2017-18.
2 If a student repeats a paper(s) in a semester, an additional fee of Rs.500/- per
paper shall be payable.
3 For Non resident Indians (NRI)/Foreign nationals (FN)/ Person of Indian origin (PIO)
candidates, a fee of US$ 3500 per annum shall be payable on yearly basis. They will have
to pay a refundable deposit of US$ 500 once at the time of admission.
4 Hostel Fee and Central Library Fee will be extra.
5 Alumni fee (if applicable) will be charged separately by the concerned Department/
Schools/ Institute/Center
6 The State Government as per Government of Madhya Pradesh circular No F-12-
42/99/2/25 dated 29-07-2003 may reimburse programme fee for SC/ST students.
