Laser Target Locator Module Locator Module

The U.S. Army has selected BAE Systems to supply its

highly capable Laser Target Locator Module system to
the warfighter. LTLM is the latest in advanced, lightweight
handheld technology. In a single unit, it provides the warfighter
with an integrated, forward-looking infrared optic, direct-view
optic, laser rangefinder, digital magnetic compass, and GPS
capability to geo-locate targets of interest day and night and
in all weather conditions. The module also can export target
location data to military networks to aid in target engagement
BAE Systems has partnered with Vectronix to provide the
highest-performing and most reliable components in the
industry. They are housed in a sealed unit for protection
from harsh conditions. This rugged design was developed to
withstand abuse and retain boresight alignment throughout
the operational spectrum.
The LTLM has been tested throughout the entire range of
environmental conditions and is ready to withstand the rigors
of combat operations, giving warfighters a decisive advantage
in locating enemy targets on the battlefields of today and
tomorrow

The need for a compact lightweight target location system The LTLM meets the military’s digital connectivity objective
to support the warfighter has never been greater. Today’s by providing an interface to the forward entry device for rapid,
precision munitions require friendly forces to know the exact accurate target data transfer. The LTLM can feed target

components from fielded systems into one self-contained
module. The LTLM weighs less than 5.5-pounds and consists
of five major, proven subassemblies.
– The direct-view optic has a day recognition range of greater Warfighter’s view through the eyepiece for day and night operations
than 4.2 kilometers
– The LTLM's lightweight, 17 micron uncooled infrared module Day view Night view
has a night recognition range of greater than 900 meters
– The Digital Magnetic Compass is renowned for its small
size, low weight and exceptional accuracy
– The fiber-based laser rangefinder is the latest in
rangefinding technology and can provide a target location at
distances in excess of 5 kilometers
– The LTLM incorporates the latest in SAASM GPS
technology with the government-provided GB-GRAM.
Data from the internal GPS, digital compass, and laser
rangefinder is used to calculate far target coordinates
quickly, safely, and accurately.

The LTLM is housed in a ruggedized package and is balanced

for easy handling and tripod mounting. User-friendly controls
are mounted atop the unit in a natural position for the soldier’s
fingertips, even when protective gear is worn.
