The 1987 Constitution states that "no law shall be passed abridging the freedom of speech, of
expression, of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and petition the
government for a redress of grievances." It clearly states that everyone has the right to express
the truth regardless of the medium they use. Furthermore, journalistic freedom includes
speaking out on behalf of all parties involved. They can use newspapers to express their ideas
and thoughts. The freedom of the press does not entail the freedom of the news media. It
implies the freedom of all ideas and publications from all perspectives. It is important to
understand that those in power can get away with bad actions if the press is not free. Bias and
misinformation will result if there are no independent media. That is why media or Journalists
perform a vital role because they disseminate knowledge to all citizens and assist them in
making the best decisions for their lives, communities, societies, and governments but
according to the video, what if the TV network is at fault first?
President Rodrigo Duterte takes legal action to shut down the largest television network,
charging ABS-CBN of engaging in highly abusive actions that damage many lives and result in
the loss of too many productive jobs. But, first and foremost, this is a problem with the TV
network. Although press freedom is a right, television broadcasting is a privilege. ABS-CBN
failed to follow the law, which is critical in the long run. Using the phrase "press freedom" to
cover up the network's wrongdoings. The issue is not one of journalistic freedom but of the
legislative franchise. In our country, press freedom is very much alive and well, if rather abused.
Everyone, regardless of social status, is expected to live and act in accordance with the values
of the rule of law. This indicates that no one is above the law, not even government officials or
governments. The television network, on the other hand, does not respect it. The video's
expression of "press freedom" indicates that free speech is alive and well. Everyone has the
right to express themselves, but indulging in criminal acts is not only a breach of free speech but
also a crime. It is ironic that we condemn illegal operations whilst defending them, because if
you violate the laws of the constitution, whether you are the press or another business, you will
surely suffer criminal sanctions.

The right to free expression is a universal human right. It is not the politician's prerogative. It
is also not a journalist's prerogative. Journalists are simply exercising every citizen's right to
free speech in their daily work. A free press is essential in any democratic society. It seeks
out and disseminates news, information, ideas, commentary, and opinion, and it holds those
in power accountable. The press provides a platform for a diverse range of voices to be
heard. It is the public's watchdog, activist, and guardian at the national, regional, and local
levels, as well as an educator, entertainer, and contemporary chronicler. But following the
rule is the most important part of this as the press are just doing their jobs, this type of issue
can be avoided if we are just mindful of them.
