Summary
Direction: Write a one-paragraph (approximately 10 sentences) summary of the reading selection. It should include the title of the reading
selection, the author’s name, author’s thesis, and supporting points.
In the Business Proposal titled as “AppSuccess” by David Baron, Daniel Choi, Miki Litmanovitz, Andrew Offit and David Shepard, stated
that they want AppSuccess to be the opportunity of the low-income students to apply in college. The reason behind AppSuccess is that every
year, there were 444,000 low-income students that were prepared to apply in college but they were not enrolled and 85% to them does not
even fill out the college application. Moreover, some of the low-income students needs help coming from adults for them to prepare in college.
These happenings are likely to happen because of the information gaps in applying to college. These information gaps are: they don’t know
which colleges to apply to, how to fil out the college application, how to make an application essay and how they will plan their financial
problem issue. However, this problem of the low-income student can solve by using the web-based platform called AppSuccess. This platform
will use by the low-income student to find their match mentors who are undergraduate students from top universities as volunteers throughout
the course. The students who want to apply will have a one-one work where they will work as a team to know where and when to apply in
college, writing an admission statement and more. In the view of this, going to college is a very big help to the economy but with these
hindrances, low-income students cannot go to college. The management team points out that if they provide the low-income students the
services of AppSuccess, then they may apply to colleges that will give them more opportunity to have a better life.

In David Baron, Daniel Choi, Miki Litmanovitz, Andrew Offit and David Shepard’s business proposal called “AppSuccess”, it stated there
that AppSuccess will be the opportunity of the low-income students to apply in college. I convinced myself to believe because the management
team support their business proposal a study that every year there are many low-income students that cannot go to college and I am not
shocked about this information because many of my classmates in senior high school decided to work or not just go to college for some reasons
and it is painful to see them that they want to go to college but they don’t have the opportunity. AppSuccess is very convenient because they
offer services just like they teach you many things on how to apply in college. This is very helpful to every student especially here in the
Philippines. On my observation, poverty is the most reason to the students to not to go to college but AppSuccess is totally free. The business
proposal is clear and precise because the management team stated all the necessary information needed to understand and state the purpose
of their company in the society and students. There is no any objectivity happened because they only want to become fair between low and
high-income students in applying to college.
