A New Port Leader for Northeast Asia's future

Active The port of Gwangyang launched its services as Samil Port on April 17, 1969. It was renamed after integrating
Development raw material piers and CTS piers on December 5, 1986. The port was reborn and poised for a new logistics port in
Northeast Asia on July 17, 1998 by the beginning of Phase I container terminal operation.
The port of Gwangyang is a multifunctional port stretching along 145.19㎢of harbor area. About 56,000 vessels
including container carriers, bulk carriers, and chemical tankers call at the port of Gwangyang annually.
Equipped with a total of 73 berths for handling all types of cargo, the port handles about 180 million tons of cargo annually.
