Week 8 Tutorial exercise

Aims:

1. Observe the self-practice of the public regarding their compliance with the suggested infection
control measures against the current pandemic situation in Hong Kong.
2. Identify the determinants affecting community members non-compliance with the infection
control measures.
3. Apply the theoretical model to explain people’s health behaviour and their health practice.

Preparation:

1. Review scientific literature on possible contributing factors leading to non-compliance on the


recommended health practice in public.
2. Review any theoretical model that can explain people’s health behaviour and their practice.

Actions:

1. Since the outbreak of COVID 19, the Hong Kong government (CHP) has initiated many primary
health preventive measures publicizing the recommended personal health advice and health
practice to the public. Fill in the information in the table regarding these recommended personal
protective measures.

2. Perform observation to three of your family members and/or friends and persons you met at
the public area to explore if they complied to these recommended health measures (with a
focus on the practice of hand hygiene and the use of surgical face mask). Prepare a short
