Text 4
A herd of thirsty wild buffaloes went to a nearby lake. They were unaware that they had trampled on the underground tunnels where a colony
of mice lived. Some of the mice who survived the tragedy held a meeting. "If they come back again," they said, "we shall all be killed!" They
decided to meet with the buffaloes. The buffaloes regretted what had happened and assured the mice that they would take another path to the
lake in the future.
A few weeks later, the buffaloes fell into a hunter's trap. A large net fell over them and as hard as they tried, they could not free themselves.
They did not know what to do. Realizing that they were doomed, they bellowed their sad predicament throughout the forest.
When the mice heard the buffaloes, they rushed to their aid. They gnawed and chewed the ropes. Soon, thanks to the mice, the whole herd was free
again.
