Target Language
Parts of the body, commands and animals.

Instructions
1 The children carry out the commands in the song, putting parts of their body into or
out of the circle, bending their knees etc. When they sing, Do the Hokey Pokey and turn
around, they dance as they turn around. When they sing, Oh, do the Hokey Pokey, they
all hold hands and rush into the centre of the circle.
2 The children then choose animals and mime them one by one, changing the word of
the song to, The (gorilla) goes in, the (gorilla) goes out, etc.

Follow up
1 The parts of the body can be changed and animals or things (gorilla, banana,
helicopter, etc.) can be introduced.
2 The actions in the chorus can be changed.
