Free Swimming Style

Free swimming is a swimming technique in which competitors are subject to very few restrictions on
stroke. It is also called as front crawl, in which swimmers move in forward direction with facedown in
the water. Few standard guidelines which make this swimming style very effective are; head should be
in neutral position inline with the trunk, looking down towards the bottom of the pool, avoid lifting the
head too much, elbow movement should be between 90 to 120 degrees etc. However, swimmers should
also has to follow proper movement measures during the hands entry phase, catch phase, pull phase
and the recovery phase.
