Torts

- A civil wrong committed against a person or a person’s property which the person/persons
who are responsible are sued for damages.

Types of Torts:
1. Unintentional Torts

2. Intentional Torts

Invasion of privacy
 Invasion of privacy occurs when someone intrudes into another's personal life without purpose.
 It gives the individual whose privacy has been infringed the right to sue the person or entity who
invaded it for damages.
 It encompasses workplace monitoring, Internet privacy, data collection, and other means of
disseminating private information.
 Negligent disregard for right to privacy, particularly when the patient is unable to protect
himself, such as in the case of unconsciousness or immobility, is legally actionable
 The right to privacy is recognized by the law as the right to simply be left alone.
