CRITIQUE

I. Introduction
The text was written by Anne Moraa which is relevant. The author’s intended
message was effectively conveyed through the usage of first person perspective. The focus
of the discussion is on the perspective of parents who abandoned their child.

II. Description
The flash fiction story is 30-word written text. Every sentence has an imaginative
action where you can feel that you are part of the scenario. And the gist of the text is to raise
awareness on child abandonment.

III. Evaluation
The first sentence of the flash fiction uses imagery that creates tension on the
elements of the text. This imagery appeals to the reader’s sense of sight and sound which
makes the written text more interesting. And the tension in the story keeps the readers
engaged.
The second sentence uses a first person point of view, sharing the character’s story
directly. Through this ambiguity is created. Where it can open different interpretations of the
text, since the main character’s perspective was shown.
The text as a whole has a style, language, and mood that compliments the story.
