The election's integrity relies on voters' willingness to make an
informed decision among the various candidates. If they are given incomplete or misleading information, it may influence their choice of candidate. Having access to objective and neutral information could assist in having a thorough understanding of political candidates.
On March 5, 2022, GenSantos Foundation College Incorporated
(GFI) BSA students held a one-day voter education program at Purok 4, Bibiana Katangawan, General Santos City.
1. Activities Conducted
1.1 Pre-Implementation Phase
o Determined which Barangay will be responsible for voter education dissemination. o Established what information should be distributed to registered voters'. o Conducted a small group discussion about how the bridging activity would be delivered. o Getting ready for everything that will be necessary for the campaign act. o Informed the chosen Barangay that a voter education campaign would've been held at their locale. 1.2 Implementation Phase o Delivered the opening prayer, followed by the opening remarks. o Provide a hard copy for the campaign’s flow. o Describe what an election is, the many forms of electoral exercises, and how frequently elections are conducted. o Talked about what registration is and why it's necessary. As well as informing them of the registration requirements. o The importance of validation and where you can validate were discussed. o Conducted a detailed discussion of voting processes/practices. o The three branches of the Philippine government were discussed, including the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches. o Candidates' qualifications for the approaching election were discussed. The RIGHT-based quality, R- Righteous Government, I- Integrity, G- Giftedness, H- Heart, and T- Track Record of the candidates. o Finally, consider the worth of your vote for the candidate of your choice. And what we need to do during elections to avoid misunderstandings, were discussed.
1.3 Post- Implementation Phase
o Questioned or asked for feedback on the voters' improvement in their learning after the campaign was implemented. o Asking for any clarifications on the voters’ respectively. o The closing prayer was delivered. o Give an acknowledgment to the participants during the campaign act.
2. Impact of the voter's education dissemination
