Launched on: 2 October 2014 Associated Ministry: Swachh Bharat (Gramin) is operated under the Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation & Swachh Bharat (Urban) is operated under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. Description: Under the mission, all villages, Gram Panchayats, Districts, States & UTs in India declared themselves “open-defecation free” by 2 October 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, by constructing over 100 million toilets in rural India. ODF Plus activities under Phase II of Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) will reinforce ODF behaviours and focus on providing interventions for the safe management of solid and liquid waste in villages.
2. Digital India Programme
Launched on: 1 July 2015 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Description: The key objectives in focus to digitally empower India are: Broadband Highways, Universal Access to Mobile Connectivity, Public Internet Access Programme, E-Governance, E-Kranti (Electronic Delivery of Services), Information for All, Electronic Manufacturing, IT for Jobs and Early Harvest Programmes.
3. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme
Launched on: 2 February 2006 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Rural Development Description: The objective of this act is to provide at least 100 days of guaranteed wage employment to every household in a financial year provided any adult member of the household is willing to do unskilled manual work.
4. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan
Launched in: 2000 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Education Description: SSA was supported by the 86th amendment in the Indian constitution which made free and compulsory education to children ranging from 6 to 14 years of age a fundamental right.
5. Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission
Launched on: 3 December 2005 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Urban Development Description: In 2015, the scheme was succeeded by Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation. As per this scheme, there will be housing for all by 2022.
6. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana
Launched on: May 2015 Associated Ministry: Ministry of finance Description: The objective of this scheme is to provide affordable insurance cover for poor and underprivileged people in the age group of 18 to 70 years. 7. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana Launched in: August 2014 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Finance Description: The aim of this scheme is to make affordable access to financial services including bank accounts, remittances, credit, insurance, and pensions. Under this scheme, nearly 1.5 crore bank accounts were opened on the day of inauguration. The achievement was also recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.
8. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao
Launched in: 2015 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Description: The scheme aims at preventing female foeticide and generating awareness for the same. The scheme also aims at improving the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls.
9. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana
Launched in: 2015 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Description: The objective of this Skill Certification Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youths to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.
10. Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana
Launched in: August 2007 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Description: The Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana was introduced with an aim to provide support to the agricultural sector in achieving 4% annual agriculture growth. It was later rebranded as Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied sector Rejuvenation (RAFTAAR) to be implemented for three years till 2019-20.
11. PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) Scheme
Launched on: 1 February 2019 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Description: Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is an initiative by the government of India in which all farmers will get up to Rs 6,000 per year as minimum income support.
12. Aatma Nirbhar Bharat
Launched in: May 2020 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Finance Description: Announced the Special economic and comprehensive package of Rs. 20 lakh crores – equivalent to 10% of India’s GDP – to fight COVID-19 pandemic in India.
13. PM Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY)
Launched in: December 2016 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Finance Description: Over 80 crore poor people are to be provided free food grains till November 2020 – 5kg of wheat/rice and 1 Kg of pulses per family. 14. Pilgrimage Rejuvenation & Spirituality Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) Scheme Launched in: 2015 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Tourism Description: PRASAD scheme is aimed at the integrated development of pilgrimage destinations in a prioritised, planned, and sustainable manner in order to provide a complete religious tourism experience.
15. Ayushman Bharat Scheme
Launched on: 2018 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Description: Ayushman Bharat is an integrated approach comprising health insurance and primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare. Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), and Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) are its components.
16. Atal Bhujal Yojana – Jal Jeevan Mission
Launched on: December 2019 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Jal Shakti Description: The objective of the program was to lay emphasis on the recharge of groundwater resources and improve the exploitation of the groundwater resources, with the involvement of people at the local level. The World Bank will provide 50 percent of the total cost as a loan for Atal Bhujal Yojana.
17. Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY)
Launched on: April 2015 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Finance Description: Mudra Yojana aims to enable Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs), Non-Banking financial institutions/Companies (NBFCs), Small Finance Banks, RBRs, Commercial Banks, Cooperative Banks, etc. to provide Low Rate Loans to eligible entities.
18. Make in India
Launched on: 25 September 2014 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Commerce and Industry Description: This scheme is intended to boost the domestic manufacturing sector and also augment investment into the country.
19. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana
Launched on: 13 January 2016 Associated Ministry: Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Description: There will be a uniform premium of only 2% to be paid by farmers for all Kharif crops and 1.5% for all Rabi crops. In the case of annual commercial and horticultural crops, the premium to be paid by farmers will be only 5%.
20. Atal Pension Yojana
