LIFTING OF PERIODIC MANDATORY MASS COVID-19 TESTING OF


FRONTLINE WORKERS AND ECONOMIC FRONTLINE WORKERS IN
SEAPORTS

The entire Cebu has been placed under Alert Level 2 upon the recommendation
of the lnter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging lnfectious
Disease in its Resolution No. 148-D, s. 2021 issued on 11 November 2021. With this
alert level and in consonance with the Department of Trade and lndustry (DTl) and
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Advisory and pursuant to Sections 7,
I and 12 of Republic Act No. 762 1 (Charter of the Cebu Port Authority), the PERIODIC
MANDATORY MASS COVID-19 TESTING of Frontline Workers and Economic
Frontline Workers in Seaports is HEREBY LIFTED. However, employers are highly
encouraged to regularly send their employees for COVID- 1 I testing (RT-PCR) every
three months, at no cost to the employees for monitoring, detection and prevention of
the spread of COVID-19 cases in the workplace.

ln consonance with DTI DOLE JMC 20-04-A lll D 3, it is noteworthy to rerterate


that all employees experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, and those who are close
contacts must undergo RT-PCR testing. The decision of whether close contacts are
to be tested or not shall be based on the recommendations of the concerned Local
Government Unit's (LGUs) Contact Tracers or Surveillance Officers through its Local
Health Unit.

Furthermore, for clarification purposes, the mandatory COVID-19 RT-PCR


Testing for Crew Change in lnternational Shipping is still in effect.
