Auto-Tune 7.1.

2 VST PC Notes

Thank you for purchasing or evaluating Auto-Tune 7 VST for PC. While the
Owner's Manual contains all the platform-independent information you'll need to
get the full benefit of Auto-Tune 7 (and we really encourage you to read it),
this file includes specific installation and use issues unique to the VST PC
version.

INSTALLATION

The Auto-Tune 7 VST installer will automatically install the plug-in, along with all
documentation, in Program Files/Antares Audio Technologies/Auto-Tune 7 VST.
Additionally, it will install a copy of the plug-in in the folder specified by the
standard vstplugins path, if such folder exists. After installation, you will be
requested to reboot your computer. If you need the plug-in in any other
location, you can manually copy it from the Auto-Tune 7 VST folder to the
required location.

AUTHORIZATION

Authorization is the process by which this software is allowed to run on your

computer. Detailed instructions covering the available authorization options will
be found in the the file “Authorization Read Me” which is included on the
installation CD ROM or with your software download.

NOTE: Note: You will not be able to launch Auto-Tune 7 until you have
completed the authorization process and downloaded your authorization to your
iLok smart key.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE

For those upgrading from older versions of Auto-Tune, is it critical to note the
following:

Auto-Tune 7 will NOT open sessions created with Auto-Tune Evo. (The addition
of the time manipulation capabilities would require you to completely re-track
your audio, effectively negating any previously made edits in the session.)

For that reason, we have configured Auto-Tune 7 such that it and Auto-Tune
Evo can be active in your DAW simultaneously. Additionally, your Auto-Tune 7
license includes a bundled authorization for Auto-Tune Evo, so you can continue
to use it to open saved sessions.

Auto-Tune 7 (like Auto-Tune Evo before it) will also NOT open sessions created
with Auto-Tune 5 or earlier versions. The improvements made to the core
technology are so extensive that it just won’t work.

For that reason, we have also configured Auto- Tune 7 such that it and Auto-
Tune 5 and all earlier versions of Auto-Tune can be active in your DAW
simultaneously.

However, it’s important to note that Auto- Tune 5 (and earlier versions) have
long been discontinued and we will not be releasing future updates to any of
them. Consequently, it’s inevitable that between computer OS advancements
and host updates, those earlier versions will eventually stop working.

If you have current saved sessions with instances of Auto-Tune 5 or earlier that
you may need to access into the indefinite future, we offer the following
suggestions:

• If you are satisfied with the current Auto-Tune settings, use whatever method
your host offers (bouncing, offline editing, etc.) to permanently render the
corrected tracks.

• If you believe you will need to keep editing into the future, remove the
instances of the earlier versions of Auto-Tune and replace them with instances
of Auto-Tune 7.

WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 7.1.2

• Fixed a number of potential bugs in drawing Lines and Curves in Graph Mode.

SUPPORTED VST HOSTS

While we have tested Auto-Tune 7 with most major VST hosts, given the huge
variety of available hosts, we can not guarantee that Auto-Tune 7 will function
properly in every one. For the current list of supported hosts, consult our online
Host Compatibility guide at:

http://www.antarestech.com/support/hosts.shtml

WINDOW FOCUS IN 64 BIT HOSTS

Due to the method of accommodating 32 bit plug-ins in the 64 bit versions of

hosts like Cubase and SONAR, when the Auto-Tune 7 is the active window,
pressing the space bar will not control your host's transport. You must first click
on any of the host's windows and then use the space bar to start or stop the
transport.

USE CUBASE 4.13 OR LATER

There is a possible hang when loading a saved session on some earlier versions
of Cubase. This problem was corrected in Cubase 4.13. So you should update to
the latest version. Really.

NO BARS + BEATS DISPLAY IN SONAR

In this release of Auto-Tune 7, the Bars + Beats time display mode does not
function in SONAR. Watch our website (www.antarestech.com) for news of any
future updates.

INTERNAL CLOCK FOR OFFLINE PROCESSING

In Cubase and Nuendo, you must select Internal Clock when using Graphical
Mode in offline processing.

GRAPHICAL MODE SYNC IN SONAR AND ABLETON LIVE

In Sonar and Ableton Live, changing the playback location while the transport is
playing will cause loss of sync in Graphical Mode. To maintain sync, stop the
transport, move to the desired location, and put the transport back into play.

MINIMUM WINDOW SIZE

When selecting a window size in the Options Menu, if you try to set a size
smaller than the minimum window size, the values will automatically default to
the minimum size.

GRAPHICAL MODE POSITION INDICATOR SYNC

In some hosts, the audio playback will lag slightly behind the graphical position
indicator. This is an artifact of some host and/or hardware combinations and is
out of our control. It is a cosmetic issue only.

RECALLING SAVED PRESETS IN SONAR

When recalling a saved preset in SONAR, it is necessary to close and then reopen
the plug-in window to ensure that the GUI is properly redrawn.
MODIFIER KEYS

The following modifier keys are active in Auto-Tune 7 in various VST hosts:

Shift - Toggles Snap-To-Note state in Graphical Mode. Toggles Momentary state

in Automatic Mode
Control - Allows free movement of correction curves in Graphical Mode. Toggles
Magnifying Glass function (+/-) in Graphical Mode
1 - 0 - Graphical Mode function selection (QWERTY keys only)
Control - Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo and Redo
