COOKING VERBS

In order to study cooking verbs and teacher answers questions about the vocabulary.
After studying the verbs, the teacher makes some drillings and students repeat, for
example:
Crush the garlic
Mash the potatoes
Simmer the tomatoes
Grate the cheese
Squeeze the oranges
Whisk the eggs
Stir the vegetables
Chop the onion
Pour the milk
Serve the meal
Finally, students make a circle and the teacher plays “Simon says” when teacher shouts
“Simon says grate the cheese” students make the action grating some cheese, but
when the teacher says “Grate the cheese” students do nothing if some students do the
action they are out of the game, until a one student remains at the end of the game, he
wins.
I think this activity is for 8-10 learners because they have language with all basic
elements, they are aware of the main rules of syntax in their language, they are
becoming aware of the real world, and also, they like to play with the language.
I consider, I should add a warm up for example a hangman activity with the word
KITCHEN to provide feedback,
Then the vocabulary presentation.
Next the drilling practice
And finally, the game “Simon Says” as production.
