Integrating Math Into Other Subject Area

The integration of math into other subjects makes students think about the “real world” which is a goal
of the NCTM standards. It also makes students start to think about why things happen, giving them a
practical approach to learning and using mathematics.

Tapping into the Affective Domain

The affective domain is part of a system that was published in 1965 for identifying, understanding and
addressing how people learn. Part of Bloom's Taxonomy, this classification of educational objectives
includes the cognitive domain, the affective domain and the psychomotor domain.The cognitive domain
is organized in a hierarchy that begins with the straightforward acquisition of knowledge, followed by
the more sophisticated cognitive tasks of comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and
evaluation.The psychomotor domain relates to the learning of physical movements. The members of the
original committee did not write a book on about the psychomotor domain.

The concept of Values Integration

Values Integration is a channel of values development through the teaching-learning activities in the
different learning areas.

The starting point of values integration is the nature of the learning areas and their unique contribution
as bodies of knowledge.

Teachers first identify the concepts to be developed in the lesson; then, develops the values inherent in
the subject

Values Integration does not mean quoting a value and discussing it.

•It is Leading the students to see a personal meaning in whatever teachers teach in the classroom
