Question:
The two most important protocols in the Transport Layer are Transmission Control
Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP). TCP provides reliable data
delivery service with end-to-end error detection and correction. UDP provides low-
overhead, connectionless datagram delivery service. Suppose as a network
administrator, you are required to select the most suitable transport layer protocol
for a video streaming website then which protocol you will choose from UDP and
TCP. Discuss your choice with proper reasons.

Reason 1:
The most attractive feature of UDP is that since it does not need to retransmit lost
packets nor does it nor any connection setup, sending data in less delay. This lower
delay makes UDP an appealing choice for dealy-senstive applications like audio
and video and it can send the lower load on server.
Reason 2:
Multicast applications are built on top of UDP since they have to do point to
multipoint. Using TCP for multicast applications would be hard since now the
sender would have to keep track of retransmissions/sending rate for multiple
receivers. It provides low overhead, fastest speed and efficient protocol.
