Timings…

● The event begins at 10.30 pm.

● The hunt continues until the first 5 teams finish (this can be curtailed to the top 3
teams if it goes on for too long).

About the Hunt…

● This treasure hunt will cover 7 locations.

● The clues will be given in the form of QR codes pasted at the locations.
● At each location, on scanning the QR you will be given a clue to a compound and
a clue to the next location.
● At the starting location, you will receive the clue to Location 1.
● At Location 1 you will find a QR. On scanning the code you will be given a clue to
compound 1 and a clue to Location 2 and so on.
● The compounds together will react/catalyse reactions. The reactions will be a
part of one grand synthesis.
● After Compounds 3 and 5 you will have to predict and send the organizers the
products X and Y respectively.
● X and Y will be intermediate products of the grand synthesis reaction and can be
derived from the compounds you worked out.
● After Compound 7, you will have to predict the final product Z of the synthesis
reaction.

On Discord…

● On scanning a QR, you will be sent to a discord server. Make sure to install
discord and create an account if you don't already have one.
● Rename yourself to your team code (3-digit number) to receive the clue.

● Only 1 member per team should scan the QR and enter the discord server.
● Each time you scan a QR and enter a server, you will have to rename yourself.
Winners and Tie-breakers…

● The first 3 teams to finish will receive the prizes and certificates.
● The 4th and 5th teams to finish will receive certificates of appreciation (this
provision can be curtailed if the event goes on for too long).
● In case of a tie for the top 3 positions, the organizing committee will decide on a
tie-breaker. An example would be asking for the mechanism of the reactions.

Locations you are NOT ALLOWED to go…

● Faculty residence
● Inside Hostels
● Outside the campus
● Inside labs of Academic Buildings (AB-1 and AB-2)
