CONSTRUCTION AND FUNCTION (1) Moment detector The moment detector is built in the end of the piston rod of the elevating cylinder. The detector has a strain gauge which converts the total moment caused by the load plus the weight of the boom into an electrical signal. This unit is completely water-proof with the outlet and connector of the signal cable made waterproof. Waterproof plug BRE Water proof raceptacie ince To 7 Monent detector eo NR Piston“roa eaves ® (2) Boom length & angle detector The boom length & angle detector is built on the side face of the base boom section. It is composed of such princi~ pal elements as cord real, speed reducer, potentiometer (for boom length detection), and boom angle detector. This unit is also made waterproof. 2. mike RE () Boxy pa EAT RMBRERY I FOEZ HID y KOK SERIO RN, HY VICk TREVOR ES = LBRRORRE— xv heMRBECARLTOR TS BRIGG 3 — 7 AOR LAL CREA. It consists of potentiometers (CUP1, CUP2) and a limit switch (swing position sensing switch). For swing angle detection, the potentiometers (CUP1, CUP2) output signals proportional to the angles through which they are driven by the shaft coupled with the rotary joint center shaft. Accord- ing to detected swing angles, either the over-front capacity or the capacity present by the outrigger state select key on the AML main unit is selected automatically. Also, according to the swing position sensing switch setting, one of the swing angles from the two potentiometers (CUPI,CUP2) is selected. (4) Ley 7 manipulation detectors Each of the manipulation detectors (approximation swithches) detectors the movement of the applica- ble crane control lever, and sends a signal to the AML main unit, to prevent the machine from being operated in an unsafe direction, 10 Boos angie dotector Pea (3) eA eee Has WBASRUUBILO—F VY ad Y HCHO oR CBD, RF YY a t—F(CUPA, CUP.2)EYS yb WA 9 FORME AL y FICE OREN TOE 4. Using this unit, the operator can set manual- ly or the AML sets automatically operating condi- tions such as front jack positions and boom operat- ing condition, Note that the switches, display panel and other parts differ among the crane models. Please check the switch / panel configuration refer- ring to the appropriate operation and maintenance manual. {6) Moment fimiter main unit ‘The moment limiter (AML) main body is mounted in the front of the operator cab. It comprises CPU base plate (micro-processor for control, ROMs, and EPROM are mounted), anzlogue base plate (mo- ment amplifier, A / D converter, and power circuit for detectors are mounted), display base plate (con- trol key switch, character display and liquid crystl panel are mounted), electric current base plate (AML current circuit, Di switch. input circuit, and relay output control circuit are mounted), and con- nector base plate (outer connectors, relays and fuses are mounted).
