CALL UP LETTER FOR SSB INTERVIEW : SSC (TECH)-58 COURSE (APR 2022)

TO BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NOTIFICATION


FOR SSC (TECH)- 58 COURSE

Dear Candidate,

1. This is to inform that you have been shortlisted to attend SSB interview at Selection
Centre East, Allahabad.

2. You are required to report at the main gate of Selection Centre East, Allahabad
(Cariappa Gate, New Cantt, Near Paani Tanki Chauraha, Kanpur Road, Prayagraj-211001) on
date and time allotted by Selection Centre East. No change will be made to the SSB
dates, once allotted.

3. COVID-19 ADVISORY.

(a) RTPCR Report/ Vaccination Certificate.


(i) Candidates who have a vaccination certificate for two doses
generated from COWIN platform and are asymptomatic on arrival will
be exempted from carrying a negative RTPCR Report.
(ii) Service entry candidates who have a vaccination certificate
issued by MH for two doses and are asymptomatic on arrival will be
exempted from carrying a negative RTPCR report.
(iii) Any candidate (incl Service Entry candidate) who does not
possess the vaccination certificate will be reqd to produce RTPCR
negative report as in vogue. The RTPCR test should have been
conducted within 72 hrs of reporting at the Selection Centre.

(b) Candidates will preferably not travel from any containment zones.

(c) Candidates will ensure that all documents including any affidavit for wrong
name or tattoos etc as stated in the call up letter are brought along. In case a
candidate fails to produce the required documents at the time of reporting, the
candidature will stand cancelled and NO repeat NO representation will be
accepted at any stage.

(d) Latest passport size photographs not older than one week, will be brought
and failure to produce the same at the time of reporting will render a candidate
disqualified for appearing for the SSB. Nobody would be allowed to leave the
premises for any documentation or getting photograph.

(e) Those candidates who are selected in Stage I for Stage II will not be
allowed to go out of the Selection Centre premises for any purposes in view of the
COVID-19 pandemic.

(f) All candidates are advised to carry Durrie, Bed Sheet and Pillow cover (Light
Bedding). These items will not be provided by the centre.

(g) Candidates are advised to carry adequate clothing that will be required for
their stay of two weeks in case recommended for selection as there shall be no
laundry facilities till the pandemic is over. All candidates will carry their personal
face masks, face shield, gloves, hand sanitiser and water bottles.

(h) Candidates are advised to ensure that they do not carry any medication
with them including any generic medicine. Any medical assistance required will be
provided at Selection Centre. There will be a check of body temperature at least
thrice a day during their stay with the selection centre. During stage-1, medical
check will be carried out at every stage of testing to ensure that the candidates
are safe.

(j) No Risk Certificate. All candidates will carry and submit a COVID-19 ‘No
Risk Certificate’ before coming for SSB. In case of minors, the same is to be signed by
their parents/ natural guardians as per Appendix ‘A’ attached.

(k) Candidates having any symptoms related to COVID-19 are advised not to move
from his / her home station.

(l) Candidate will be returned back if symptoms like fever, cold, cough & running
nose are detected at the Rxn area and will not be allowed for stg-1 screening.

(m) Quarantine Policy. All candidates will meet the quarantine requirements of the
respective states before their due date of reporting for the SSB batch.

(n) Candidates are advised to get travel details (i.e. from PLACE OF
RESIDENCE to SCE, ALLAHABAD) as per following :-

(o) DO’s and DONT’s while undergoing SSB :-

(i) Wear mask at all the time and before putting on mask, clean hand with
soap and water. Replace mask with a new one as soon as it is damp and do not
re-use single use mask.

(ii) Regularly and thoroughly clean your hand with soap and water prior to
verification of documents and prior to appearing for the tests.

(iii) Maintain at least one metre (three feet) distance amongst each other.
Also no congregation of more than three candidates under any circumstances.

(iv) Don’t touch your body parts or any surface unnecessarily.

(v) Maintain good respiratory hygiene i.e. cover your mouth and nose with
tissue paper when cough or sneeze. Then dispose off the used tissue
immediately in the covered dustbin and wash your hand with soap and water.

(vi) Inform and seek immediate medical attention in case of fever, cough and
difficulty in breathing.

(vii) No out pass for candidates during the SSB.

(viii) Finally, be supportive, be careful, be alert and be safe.

Note:- No changes will be made to the SSB dates, once selected/ allotted. Also, no absentee
batches have been scheduled.

4. Local Candidates.
(a) Withhold your move and contact us at the earliest in case you or your
parents or close relatives are serving in Selection Centre East, Allahabad.
(b) Candidates, who are wards of serving persons who are posted to any
defence establishment in Allahabad/Prayagraj Military Station should immediately
info Selection Centre East, Allahabad.
(c) Further instructions regarding change of Centre will be intimated to you on
receipt of such confirmation from you.
(d) Withholding information or giving false information in this regard will
render you liable for cancellation of your candidature and disqualification of
commission in case detected subsequently.

Eligibility.

5. Please ensure that you fulfill all eligibility criteria strictly as per the Notification published
for SSC (Tech)-58 Course on our official website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. In case of
shortcoming if any, candidates will be returned on reporting for the SSB. Following issues are
highlighted :-

(a) Age Limit. As per notification for the particular entry.

(b) Educational Qualification. As per notification for the particular entry.

(c) Cut off percentages. As per notification for the particular entry.

6. Permanent Body Tattoo (s).

(a) Only small innocuous permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of
forearm i.e from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm / back
(dorsal) side of hand. Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body are not
acceptable and candidates will be barred from further selection. Tribes with tattoo
marks on the face or body as per their existing custom and traditions will be permitted
on a case to case basis.

(b) Documents Required to be Submitted. In case of permissible tattoos,


under mentioned Appendices to DG Recruiting ‘Tattoo Policy for candidates appearing
for SSB Interview with Permanent Body Tattoos’ are required to be submitted for being
allowed to continue with selection process :-

(i) Tribal Communities. Appendix A & B. Formats attached as


Exhibit I & II.

(ii) Non Tribal Communities. Appendix D. Format attached as Exhibit III.

Documents Required when Reporting for SSB Interview

7. Following documents in ORIGINAL must be brought along with two photocopies each
duly self attested (Original documents will be returned after verification at the SSB):-

(a) Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate or equivalent certificate


and Marksheet issued by the Concerned Board of Education.

Note 1. Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate or equivalent


certificate issued by the Concerned Board of Education will only be accepted as
proof of Date of Birth, Candidate’s name and Parent’s name (Father & Mother)
(No other document like Admit Card/ Marksheet/ Transfer Certificate etc, are
acceptable).

Note 2. In case Parent’s name (Father & Mother) is not mentioned in


Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate or equivalent certificate,
the candidate is required to produce any document issued by Govt of India or
States Govt such as PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving licence etc. for
verification. However, Candidate’s name and their Parent’s name filled in online
application must match exactly with those mentioned in the produced document.

(b) 12th Class Marksheet and Certificate or Equivalent certificate/ Diploma


Marksheet and certificate (Diploma holders).

(c) Engineering Degree / Provisional Degree issued by the university.

(d) Mark Sheets of all semesters / years (Candidates having backlog at the time of
submission of application are not eligible to apply).

(e) Valid Proof of Identity with photograph- Aadhaar Card/PAN Card/Voter ID


Card/Passport.

(f) One copy of Online Application duly signed and affixed with self attested
photograph.

(g) Certificate for Not Having Duplicate Profiles/Registration IDs. A declaration to


this effect as per format attached at Appendix - ‘B’.

(h) Candidates Who Have Submitted Their Certificates and Mark Sheets in
College or Institution for Pursuing Higher Studies.. Candidates are required to
bring a Bonafide cum Custodian Certificate as per Appendix - ‘C’ On original letter
head duly signed by the Principal/Head of institution where the documents have been
submitted.

(j) Certificate of Previous Candidature/SSB Attempt. Format is attached as


Appendix - ‘D’.

(k) Educational Qualification. Candidates who have passed the requisite


Engineering Degree Course or are in the final year of Engineering Degree course are
eligible to apply. Candidates studying in the final year of Engineering degree course
should be able to submit proof of passing by 01 Apr 2022 and produce the Engineering
Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at
Officer Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

(l) Certificate from the Principal/ Head of the Institution stating that the candidate is
in final year and result will be declared by 01 Apr 2022 (for final year appearing
candidates) as per specimen attached at Appendix ‘E’. Certificate should also certify
that the candidate do not have any backlog at the time of submission of online
application.

(m) Certificate issued by the Controller of Examination/ Registrar/ Dean of the


concerned University or Principal of the College regarding cumulative percentage of
marks upto final semester/ year of Engg degree course/ B. Architecture (B. Arch)/M Sc
in notified stream/ discipline and formula for conversion of CGPA/ Grades into marks
followed by University (for already passed candidates). Specimen attached as per
Appendix ‘F’.

(n) Certificate issued by the Controller of Examination/ Registrar/ Dean of the


concerned University or Principal of the College regarding cumulative percentage of
marks upto 6th semester/ 3rd year of Engg Degree, upto 8th semester/ 4th year of B.
Architecture (B.Arch) and upto 2nd semester/ 1st year of M.Sc in notified stream/
discipline and formula for conversion of CGPA/ Grades into marks followed by
University (for final year appearing candidates). Specimen attached as per
Appendix ‘G’.

(o) Candidates of final year /semester of graduation degree course.


Declaration by the candidate of final year Engineering degree course that he will submit
the proof of passing Engg Degree Examination alongwith marksheets of all
semesters/years by 01 Apr 2022 to Directorate General of Recruiting and ensure that
the cumulative percentage of marks upto final semester/ year is not less than the
approved cut off percentage, failing to which his candidature will be cancelled.
Specimen for undertaking/ declaration attached as per Appendix ‘H’.

(p) Candidates are also required to bring all certificates in original. Originals will be
returned after verification at the Service Selection Board ITSELF. Any candidate who
does not carry these entire documents for the SSB interview is liable for cancellation
and will be returned.

(q) Candidates having any backlog in any semester upto 6 th semester at the time of
submission of application for SSC(Tech)-58 (Apr 2022) course will not be permitted to
undergo SSB even if his cumulative percentage upto 6th semester/ 3rd year of Engg
Degree, upto 8th semester/ 4th year of B. Architecture (B.Arch) and upto 2nd semester/
1st year of M Sc is equal or higher than approved cut off percentage in his stream. A
certificate in this regard will be submitted as per Appendix ‘J’.
Note 1. Any ambiguity/ false information/ concealment of information detected in the
certificates/ documents/ online application will result in cancellation of the candidature
at any stage of selection and thereafter.
8. Change of Interview Date/ Centre. Request for change of SSB Interview Date/ Centre
will NOT be entertained or replied.

9. Applicable for Service Candidates Only. SERVICE CANDIDATES WILL BE


PERMITTED FOR THEIR SSB INTERVIEW ONLY ON MOVEMENT ORDER AND NOC
ISSUED BY COMMANDING OFFICER.

10. The subjects mentioned in the main ‘Engg Stream’ column as well as the
‘specified’ engg stream column by the candidate in his online application form shall be
matching with the degree certificate / marksheet. In case they do not match, the
candidate is not allowed to appear in SSB.

11. The following cut off will be applied in each stream on the cumulative percentage of
marks obtained by the candidates upto the final semester/ year of Engineering Degree
Course/ B Architecture (B. Arch)/M Sc in notified discipline for already passed candidates and
cumulative percentage of marks upto 6th semester/ 3rd year of Engg Degree OR upto 8th
semester/ 4th year of B. Architecture (B. Arch) OR upto 2nd semester/ 1st year of M.Sc for
final year studying candidates. Final semester/ year studying candidates will be provisionally
allowed to appear in SSB, and to ensure that after declaration of final results, the cumulative
percentage of marks upto final semester/ year of degree course will also be not less than the
approved cut off percentage. In case your cumulative percentage of marks is below the cut off
percentage then you are not eligible for this course:-

Note :- Candidates must note that only the Engineering streams and their acceptable equivalent
streams, strictly as notified in the table above, will be accepted. Candidates with degree in any other
engineering stream(s) are not allowed. NO EQUIVALENCE OF ENGG STREAM IS ALLOWED FOR
SSC(Tech)-58 (Apr 2022) COURSE. Any variation between the nomenclature of Engineering
stream as given on the degree parchment & marksheet and that submitted by the candidate in
his online application will result in cancellation of candidature.

12. Special Instructions : Variations in Personal Particulars. Candidates MUST thoroughly


scrutinise all requisite Certificates and documents, including the Online Application to check if there is
any variation in the personal particulars – Candidate’s Name & Parents Name from document to
document. In case of minor variations also (Eg :- Initials in name, spelling mistakes, suffixing of middle
name / surname etc), the candidates are required to submit an Affidavit stating the variations in the
personal particulars in specific documents and corrective actions taken thereto (to be elaborated in
details). Following aspects be kept in mind while preparing the Affidavit :-

(a) The personal particulars – Candidate’s Name & Parents Name as contained in
Matriculation or Equivalent Certificate only will be acceptable.

(b) Due care be taken to address all the variations without leaving any scope for
interpretations/ assumptions whatsoever of such variations from document to document . In
absence of correct affidavit, the candidate will be returned back without entertaining any
representations.

Note 1:- Candidates declared successful in the SSB interview are required to submit at
the earliest a photocopy duly self attested of all such provisional degree/degree certificate
acquired after the SSB interview to Directorate General of Recruiting, New Delhi.

Note 2:- Candidates are further advised that documents already verified at the Selection
Centre need not be submitted again to IHQ of MoD (Army). In case of loss of such documents,
the onus will entirely rest upon the candidate.

Instruction for Attention of Candidates

13. Testing Procedure at SSB. This will be conducted over five days excluding the day of
arrival, in two stages :-

(a) Stage I. The Stage I testing shall commence at 06.30AM on the first day and will
comprise of an Intelligence Test and a Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT).

(b) In case of your rejection in Stage I, you shall be returned from the Centre in the
afternoon of the same day.
(c) Stage II. The Stage II tests comprises of Psychological Tests, Group Test I & II
and Interview for the next four days.
14. Compensation. Government is not responsible for any compensation to the candidates or
to their guardians/ heirs for injuries sustained by them during the period of testing or while using
military transport.
15. Travelling Allowance (TA). Please refer relevant contents of Notification for ‘Entitlement for
Travelling Allowance’ Re-imbrusement of TA will be made to Bank Account through NEFT to the
candidates Accts/beneficiary account of their parents only. To claim TA if applicable, candidates must
submit TA Form (Format attached as Appendix - ‘K’), a copy of the tickets and a cancelled cheque or
a self attested photocopy of first page of bank passbook. You are liable to forfeit the TA if you :-
(a) Are withdrawn from any stage of Testing due to ineligibility/ cancellation of candidature.

(b) Make use of any travel concession forms from Defence or any other Govt Department.
16. Administrative Instructions. Following administrative instructions are laid down for
Candidates guidance and strict compliance :-
(a) Cash and Valuables. It is advised that, a maximum of Rupees One Thousand
over and above what is required for travelling expense may be carried. No valuables should be
carried. Safe custody of cash and valuables will be the responsibility of the candidates.
(b) All candidates are advised to carry Durrie, Bed Sheet and Pillow cover (Light
Bedding). These items will not be provided by the centre.

(c) No individual will be allowed to go out of the SCE premises on the day of
screening test. Hence it is advised that you must bring your luggage with you at the
time of reporting.
(d) Candidates will strictly adhere to laid down timings at all places.

(f) The conduct of the candidates both in the Selection Centre will be courteous.

(g) Mobile phones will be deposited on arrival and their usage during the stay at
SCE, Allahabad is strictly prohibited. Internet facilities are available at this Centre for
utilisation by the candidates.

(h) Any contravention of above orders / any act of indiscipline/ malpractices or


cheating during testing will invite immediate cancellation of candidature on disciplinary
grounds. Cases of serious breach of discipline and conduct will be handed over to civil
police and FIR registered accordingly.
