Get started
1 Make sure the Money in Excel pane is open. If it's not, click the Money in Excel icon in on the upper right corner
2 Trust the add-in
3 Sign in with a Microsoft 365 Family or Personal account
4 Connect a primary financial account
5 Categorize your transactions in the Categories sheet
6 Update your workbook to sync your recent transactions
Note: Money in Excel only works on desktop or web, not on mobile

Save your workbook


1 Save your workbook before closing the file
2 Name your workbook by selecting "Save as" and renaming the file
3 Save your file in a secure location
4 Come back to that location when you're ready to use Money in Excel
Note: To share your Money in Excel workbook, the recipient needs to download the Money in Excel template, sign in with you

1 Your transactions sheet shows transactions from financial accounts you have connected. The Money in Excel pan
