Byzantine and Gothic are known for prioritizing their religious beliefs when it comes to
their Architecture. These periods have varieties of differences that make them unique from each
other. Byzantine Architecture usually has large internal spaces to cater more people, while
Gothic Architecture built churches to look like heaven with bright colors and high ceilings. But
even though there is a lot of dissimilarities, both periods have the same motive, to always give
importance to their beliefs. We all know that these two eras are religious, but they have distinct
views, therefore they used church architecture to symbolize their faith in heaven.

Byzantine Architecture believes that their Church is already heaven on Earth. They used
painting and drawing on their golden wall portraying Jesus as the center of the Church.
Meanwhile, Gothic Architectures believe that the higher Church they have, the closer they are to
heaven, and with the use of Mama Mary's images were all around the glass windows to
emphasize that Mama Mary is more important because of its motherly figure.

In Byzantine art, they value more stylized art above naturalistic ones. The utilization of
delicate, floating figures and gilded tesserae accentuated the religious subjects' otherworldliness
in this way. Byzantine also used mosaic works to express and tell God's story to have a more
substantial connection to heaven. While the Gothic style often is commonly associated with
religious architecture, leading to its link with the Church. It is one of the utmost meaningful and
arranged varieties of the physical Church, supposed to be God's physical home on Earth. And
the Gothic Used stone sculptures to represent religious character and biblical doctrines.

In conclusion, Byzantine and Gothic architecture express their belief by using their
beliefs as symbols connecting heaven in their exterior and interior designs. Byzantine and
Gothic both have many similarities in expressing their connection to God and Heaven, which
they both show through the architecture of cathedrals and arts. When it comes to religion, we all
have different types of beliefs. In this case, the architecture of these two eras is used to reflect
their faith in their gods.
