DAILY MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST OF ELECTRO MECHANICAL EQUIPMENTS AND AUTOMATION SYSTEM OF MASSANJORE DAM

DAILY CHECKING FOR THE MONTH OF :-

A. GATE AND HOIST

1 Entrance to all hoist platforms shall be kept locked. All
keys shall remain with the authorized operating supervisor

2 The gate operation should be trouble free and there

should not be unusual sound
3 Alarm siren is working in order

4 Daily inspection of hoist and gate to ensure that there are

no unusual happenings.

B ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

1 Ensured that power supply is at 440/400 volts.

2 Ensure that phase sequence of the starter and motor is

proper.
3 Ensure that limit switches are positioned at desired levels.

4 Check all power indicating lamps are functionning.

5 Check that there is no sign of heating up, burning smell,

decolouration or sparking at any of the boards (SDBs as
well as main boards),

6 The spaces in front of DB’s and sockets are free (without

any storage of fi les/ papers etc.)

C AUTOMATION SYSYTEM INCLUDING NETWORKING TELEMETRY

& INSTRUMENTATION

1 All VDU (Visual Display Unit) of system working propery.

2 Ensure all control voltage of system for unit is correct.

3 All network path (OFC & Cat- cable and wire ) is healthy.

4 Telemetry system working properly.

5 Ensure all field instruments & sensores are functioning (i.e.

all Level sensors, encoders, Local PLC, ADCP and others)

6 Ensure all servers of sysytem are in working mode

7 Ensure all UPS for system at cetral & remote in proper

functionning
8 Ensure SMS Tiggering is working

9 Ensure all siren is healthy

10 Ensure CCTV/ SCADA Surveillance Network is healty in all

respect.
11 Ensure all network with all redundency sytem for
automation keep in functionning.

MONTHLY CHECKING Jan Feb Mar April May June July Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec Remarks

A GATE AND HOIST

1 Clean the dust of all hoisting machinery and hoist platform.

2 Check oil level in gear boxes and replenish wherever

required with oil of proper grade
3 Lubricate all bearings, bushings, pins, linkages, etc. with
grease of suitable grade by grease gun
4 Check all bolts and nuts on gear boxes, hoist drum and
shaft couplings and other points for tightness

5 Check wheel rotation by hand for free rotation greased

properly if needed.
6 Remove all dirt, girt, etc. from trunnion assembly and
lubricate trunnion bearings with suitable water resisting
grease
7 Check Seals and seal seating for leakages. Locations of
excessive leakages shall be recorded for taking remedial
measures.
8 Check welds at critical points like between yoke girder web
and tie flats, between trunnion and tie between turnnion,
lifting bracket and gate

B ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

1 Clean the dust of all panels, enclosures and hoisting

machinery and hoist platform
2 Check all the fuses/ MCCB/MCB on power lines and ensure
closing of panel board covers not to entry of dust and
moist
3 Check the supply voltage

4 All Starters (DOL, VFD & soft Starter) should be cleaned

free of moisture and dust and working properly.

5 Each individual contactor /relay should be examined to

make sure that it operated freely.

broken and no connections are loose
7 Check all relays and meters physically.

8 Checking tightness of all the control and power cable

connection.
9 Check all protections for motors.

10 Check all the contactors for proper operation.

HALF YEARLY/YEARLY CHECKING 1 2 Remarks

A GATE AND HOIST

1 Clean the dust of all hoisting machinery and hoist platform.

2 Lubricate the wire rope.

3 Check gear boxes for oil leakage, if any rectify and topup.

4 Check the condition of gear oil and it should be changed every 5000
hours of working.

5 All the nuts and bolts of trunnion assembly and its anchorages shall
be checked for tightness
6 All the geared couplings shall be greased

7 Check all the welds for soundness and rectify defects; if any

8 Clean all drain holes including those in end arms, horizontal girders
trunnion and pulley blocks

9 Check all nuts and bolts for tightness and tighten them; if loose

10 The wheel bearings and guide rollers shall be lubricated

11 Check tightness of all coupling bolts of motor to worm reducer, gear

boxes and line shaft.

B ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

1 Overhaul the controllers

2 Inspect and clean circuit breakers

3 Change oil in stand by generator

4 Check earth connections and motor leads

5 Check motor windings for overheating

6 Check Solenoids Operated Brakes
