Background of Study

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting provides students with a highly valuable,

versatile, and in-demand skill set and demonstrates fluency in the language of
business ( Towson.edu,2022). Choosing a career is one of the most important
decisions of a student to determine their plan in the future. Career choice is a
significant issue in the developmental live of youths because it is reported to be
associated with positive as well as harmful psychological, physical and socio-
economic inequalities that persist well beyond the youthful age into an individual's
adult life (Robertson, 2014; Bubić and Ivanišević, 2016).
Students look into different aspects then decide whether it will be suitable for
them in the long run or not.
Every student's life is defined by the decision they make about their career.
Students have to consider several factors before arriving at a
decision(Akhlaq,Kazi 2017). It is definitely worth the effort as well as the time, so
choosing the right career is very important.

The future of the students mainly depends on the decision they take and many
factors can affect that decision. They are taking a risk by enrolling in this course
because of the following factors. In students personality, opportunities,family and
friends and also the current trending in industry will determine how students
make career choices. The first factor in career choice, personality may influence
the career students choose. Personality affects their career choice the most. A
students personality must be self-motivated type, as to investigate career
possibilities from early in their lives and not the procrastinating type that waits till
they are compelled to decide. Students must take seriously the role grades play
in limiting opportunities in the future. It is important to them to have a good
undertaking of their personality, if they are make intelligent career plans (Olamide
& Olawaiye, 2013. Opportunity is the second factor that can influence the career
choices of students. For Accountants many opportunities can be obtain once you
graduate from this course and they offer a high salaries for professionals in the
financial industry. Opportunity may influence how students have perceive their
future in terms of the reasonable probability of a future in particular fields.

The third factor is family. It is important to include families in helping to shape

your decisions in relation to developments you want to make. Families know their
circumstances best and what types of support will work best for them. Families
are the child's first and most enduring educator, this makes their input vital.
The fourth factor is current trending in industry, the accounting industry is rapidly
evolving with the rise of technologyIntelligent technology is shaping the future of
accounting by impacting the types of jobs that will become available. Technology
will continue to impact the role of the accountant and the demand for accountants
in the future.

The purpose of this study was to determine how influential the factors in their
lives are and why they are enticed to pursue a career in accounting, despite the
fact that it is one of the most difficult courses to pursue. The goal of this study is
to figure out what factors influence human growth and development. There's a
misconception that accounting is boring, but in reality the field offers a range of
interesting career choices . Accounting is a stable and a broad profession. Where
you can work at any business and to perform critical financial duties, every
business requires an accountant. Furthermore, it becomes easier to make
decisions about current and future initiatives, therefore appropriate accounting is
critical. It is critical to make career decisions since they provide much-needed
direction and clarify where you envision yourself in the future. You must use
caution when making career decisions. Your happiness is dependent on the
decisions you make, so picking the right career is critical. It will provide you with a
great deal of satisfaction.
