Activity 1

Is a whale shark a shark or a whale?

Whale sharks have a cartilage in their bones so does a shark.

Whale sharks have two dorsal fins and a vertical tale so does a shark

Therefore, a whale shark is a shark.

Evaluating Understanding

1. Upon answering the first activity, I used formal logic. It is because I wanted to be more objective
and provide facts. I thought that by providing facts, I would clear out confusions as to why whale
sharks are in fact sharks.
2. I conveyed my answer through using inductive logic. I stated the particular reasons on why
whale sharks are sharks in my premises and then I stated my conclusion that whale sharks are
sharks.
3. Logic provided me the correct structure for my argument and helped me strengthen my answers
in the activity.
