Discussion Forum unit 2

After I read about personality traits, I found that my personality traits resembled a kind of mix
between the big five personality traits and the other personalities. So, my personality is made up
of agreeableness and a proactive personality. Agreeableness is an important personality trait in
jobs that require teamwork, and teamwork necessitates helping one another. As teamwork needs
leadership capability, this personality trait also plays a significant role in becoming a great leader
(Carpenter et. al., 2010, p. 76). A proactive personality trait is important in work areas that
require the capability of problem solving and high decision-making capacity, as well as areas
that need a person who takes action to solve problems without waiting for command to take
action and being told to do so (Carpenter et. al., 2010, p. 78). Luckily, I work for a company that
requires this type of personality. Since I am working for a public safety organization, I found
these personality traits especially important in dealing with problems that my organization faces
every day.
