(D) A is false but R is true
[Link]: The height of the object is always positive
Reason: The object is always placed above the principal axis in the upward direction
[Link]:Large concave mirrors are used to concentrate sunlight in solar cooker to produce heat.
Reason:Concave mirror produces parallel beam of light when the light ray passes through principal focus.
[Link]: An object is placed at a distance of f from a convex mirror of focal length fm, its image is formed at infinity.
Reason: The distance of image in a convex mirror can never be infinity.
[Link]: Higher is the refractive index of a medium, lesser is the speed of light in that medium
Reason: Refractive index is inversely proportional to speed of light.
[Link]:The mirror formula can be applied to a plane mirror.
Reason: The plane mirror is a spherical mirror of infinite focal length.
CASE STUDY -1
Read the following passage and answer all the questions :
The position ,nature and size of the image of an object formed by
a convex lens depends on the position of the object with respect
to its optic centre and can be studied by using the Cartesian sign
convention and drawing the corresponding ray diagrams. The
nature, position and size of the image can be noted and
measured from the optic centre of the convex lens.

[Link] lens which can be used to view the small letters in the dictionary is
A. a convex lens of focal length 50cm B. a concave lens of focal length 50cm
C. a convex lens of focal length 5cm D.a concave lens of focal length 5cm
24. A convex lens produces an image of height 4cm of an object of height 2cm on the sameside where the object is

A. 20cm B.30cm C. 60cm D.40cm
CASE STUDY -2
The convex mirror always forms a virtual image of the object and the image formed by the convex mirror is smaller than
the size of the actual object. Therefore, the most common convex mirror uses are in places where bigger objects are to
be viewed in a smaller size. Since convex mirrors have a wider view field than concave mirrors and plane mirrors, they
are mostly used inside mirrors of automobiles. Large offices, stores, and hospitals use a convex mirror to let people see
around the corner so that they can avoid running into each other and prevent any [Link] mirrors are widely
used as rear-view mirrors in automobiles and vehicles.
25. The magnification produced by a rear view mirror that is used in the vehicles is
(A) less than 1 (B) more than 1 (C) equal to 1 (D) less than 1 or more than 1
26.A convex mirror always forms a image which is
A. virtual and enlarged [Link] and enlarged C. real and diminished [Link] and diminished
[Link] the object is moved from infinity to the pole of a convex mirror ,the image
[Link] from pole to the focus of the convex mirror [Link] from focus to the pole of the mirror
[Link] remains the same that is at focus [Link] of the above
28. The full length image of a distant tall building can be seen by using
(A) concave mirror (B) convex mirror (C) concave lens (D) convex lens
