Qualitative test for SYPHILIS

Syphilis is a bacterial infection that is typically transmitted through sexual

contact. The infection begins as a painless sore on the genitals, rectum, or mouth.
Syphilis is spread from person to person through contact with these lesions on the
skin or mucous membrane. The syphilis germs can remain inactive in the body for
decades after the first infection before becoming active again. Early syphilis can
occasionally be healed with a single penicillin shot injection.

Syphilis testing determines whether or not a person has the disease.

Antibodies to the organism, or germ, that causes syphilis is sought. Some tests are
designed to detect syphilis germ. Syphilis is an infection spread through sexual
contact. That is, it is transmitted by sexual contact, whether vaginal, anal, or oral.
Blood, bodily fluid, and tissue samples are tested. If a syphilis infection is
suspected after a first screening test, a second test is performed to confirm the
illness. The Venereal Disease Research Laboratory (VDRL) test is one of the tests
used to check for syphilis. The VDRL test looks for an antibody that syphilis
patients can develop in their blood or spinal fluid. Because this antibody isn't
created particularly in response to syphilis, the test result could be "abnormal" for
reasons other than syphilis. RPR (rapid plasma reagin) test Antibodies to syphilis
are also detected by the RPR test. Immunochromatographic test was performed
quickly. Antibodies specific to syphilis are checked in this test. The blood sample is
not submitted to a laboratory, unlike another testing. The results will be available
at your next doctor's appointment.

Syphilis does not have a vaccine. Follow these guidelines to help prevent
the spread of syphilis. Either abstain or commit to a monogamous relationship.
Avoiding (abstaining from) having sex is the only surefire technique to avoid
contracting syphilis. The next best alternative is mutually monogamous sex, in
which both partners have exclusive intercourse with each other and neither is
infected. Use a condom made of latex. Syphilis can be prevented by condoms,
but only if the condom covers the syphilis lesions. Stay away from recreational
drugs. Drinking too much alcohol or using other drugs might impair your
judgment and lead to risky sexual behavior.

- Based on the procedure in syphilis test. My Prof. discussed the qualitative

test of syphilis. For getting to know how to examine the person that has kind of
this disease. He put the four drops of serum in the syphilis test and he put next
the deliuen liquid. As we can see, there’s a letter C and letter T in the syphilis test.
The letter C means to control, if the result is one line only that means the patient
is the negative or dis-qualified result and he/she has no syphilis condition. Then,
the letter T is a test, when the test has two lines meaning, the patient is positive
and she/he has the syphilis test the positive condition of the patient is called
TREPONEMA PALLIDUM.
- This kind of test is the VDRL test also
known as the Venereal Disease
Research Laboratory test.

- The second test called Rapid test for

syphilis.
