Activity 2.

1. Entrepreneurship is commonly known as the process of creating, launching, and

running a business venture in order to gain profit by taking several risks in the
corporate world. Nowadays as a broader definition since is consider a transversal
competence that is related to the individual ability to turn ideas into actions, in the
sense that this ability is linked to creativity, innovation and risk acceptance. We are
now at the modern world where in the use of technology, everything can happen
that’s why modern-day entrepreneurs have the perk of expanding their businesses
and reaching out to the target audience with the help of social media.

2. Entrepreneurs provide new job opportunities in the long term that’s why
entrepreneurs are important when the economy is doing badly. When
unemployment is high and the economy is contracting or stagnating, dynamic
entrepreneurship could help turn the economy around. By developing novel
products or increasing competition, new firms can boost demand, which could in
turn create new job opportunities and reduce unemployment.

3. All entrepreneurs goal is to run a business, but they have different way of achieving
it or their respective spectrums. The reason for that is I think based on their strength
and capability in starting a business. Some might want to be a sole owner because
they know that they can handle it and have the courage to risk, while some might
start with family business, partnership, or franchising a business, it’s just about how
they can manage to run and start a business.

4. Yes. Sustainable development consists of a long-term, integrated approach to

developing and achieving a healthy community by jointly addressing economic,
environmental, and social issues, whilst avoiding the over consumption of key
natural resources. This is a time when business needs to show the courage to adopt
strategies that create long-term value for their companies and for the societies they
serve. This is the time to create a brighter future for all.

5. Yes. Because small businesses have the advantage of making more personalized
relationships with their customers and partners. Whatever the industry, there are
ways to creatively showcase sustainability efforts, be it on the website, company e-
newsletters or social media. A smaller business might also have the ability to meet
demands for eco-conscientious products and services which will more than offset
the costs of up-front integration of sustainability initiatives.
6. Sustainable system. This indicator represents how the company acts in the social
context and evaluates national or international relationships and the impact on the
local territory. This indicator also shows the impact on the life quality of the
employees and the local community. By considering these sustainability indicators,
through accurate analysis, we can develop a critical point of view towards the
sustainability of the company and identify the aspects that have to be improved for
reaching a good balance among the three areas of action of sustainability (social,
environmental and economic).
